Thanks everyone for your thoughts.

I am going for my original spec choice of Papaya. Wobble over (for now) laugh

Also interested in what you decided to do as I'm in a similar position.

I've got a deposit down on a GTS (not got an allocation yet, but hopefully in the next couple of months) and initially favoured Volcano Grey. Having seen a few around, it just blends in, especially at this time of year. My favourite colour is Carmine Red, but my 911 is already in that colour and I'm not sure if getting the same colour for the Macan is a bit too much. I also think that many larger cars don't suit louder colours, but a Macan gets away with it for some reason.

If I didn't already have a car in the same colour, I'd get Carmine in an instant, so i think I might just go for it and sod what the neighbours think. On a positive note, it'll save me having to get a new touch up stick for when the inevitable stone chips make an appearance.

Nice first world problem to have I suppose.

Let us know what you decided on in the end.

How is Volcano Grey at hiding the dirt?

I've had a black car before and would avoid dark colours which VG appears to be?

I have a volcano grey GTS - I love the colour to be honest - a lot of people have commented on the colour also.

I do have a preference to 'stealth' coloured cars, though.

I'd say the VG does hide dirt reasonably well - it's got just enough of a tint in it to not act like a black car. I've had a black car and it was a pain in the ass.

The VG absolutely sparkles in the sun - give it a good clean and a wax and you get that lovely 'candy' metallic look.

My wife looked at a few VG cars but in the end she chose a used Gen II Macan S mainly on spec. It has 20 options and ticked every box we wanted.

When I bought my 981 I only managed 7 out of 10 but gained others I didn't know I "needed" such as PASM and 14-way seats.

It's a lovely colour though, Dolomite Silver, should be a good dirt colour. Collect later this week...

Oops, I've not been servicing my own thread. Sorry, but I've lost interest due to the following:-

When Porsche increased their prices it meant a hike of £4,500 and so was not happy having waited over six months and not even got an allocation slot. So I de-specced my order back down to the not inconsiderable original price to hopefully secure an allocation sooner than later. However, the promise of an allocation was put back a little further than an earlier ballpark date and changed a few times during the price conversations I was having with the OPC.

Weeks later I just reflected on the fact I was not getting the car that I originally wanted and there had been too many compromises made on my part to a car I no longer wanted so I cancelled my order and that was that!

I am not destined to be a Porsche owner after all.

Sorry for any disappoint as you've all been very helpful. Cheers.
