Is that something rare or "just" a 944 with a body kit?
They do often get mistaken for either 924s or 944s with a body kit. However It’s a 924 Carerra GT - a homologation special built to race in the production class in the1980 Le Mans - they made 407 of which 75 were RHD and only available in Red Silver or Black although there were some initial prototypes in white. Three were entered in the 24 hours - one for the US one for the UK and one for Germany - they did rather well in the race one finished in the top ten. They are essentially Series II 924 Turbos with an inter cooler and resin front and rear arches that became the blueprint for the 944, producing 210 Bhp and a 0-60 time of around 6.5 secs - quite decent in period.
The Red one posted after mine is a Carrera GTS - I believe 75 were built and had 175bhp and were a bit more focussed - the Le Mans entries were GTRs that were even more extreme but used basically the same hardware.
