Hello Porsche people, newbie here not to PH but to the Porsche dept.
Here's my 1988 Carrera.
Rod.
Nice car, good colour! I would have got a 3.2 but I watched the prices almost double over the last 4 years and it is some much harder to stump up the cash when you have seen something at a lower price. Here's my 1988 Carrera.

How is the driving experience?
not very good at this but hopefully this link works !

How is the driving experience?
I used to drive this car when I was younger its been off the road for 7 years. How is the driving experience?
So today was my first drive for sometime, it still feels planted but seems slower than I remember , having to work hard through the gears (I'm so familiar with my Tuscan ).
All in all I love it especially now as 10 or so years ago people would say "time to upgrade that now isn't it?" - personally I think the time is right for this shape, it now looks like a classic.
Sorry I couldn't give you more feed back but as I said only done 70 miles today, I'll add some more over the next few months.
Rod.

That's great you didn't have to pay the current inflated prices! Well done for keeping it. Did you have to do much work to get her back on the road? I have always loved that shape, you could say the ultimate classic shape (due to its longevity) and yours is the last couple of years of production with "all mod cons"! Not quite as speedy as a Tuscan!!! The car has been in our family for almost 20 years now, longer than some animals we've had. To get it back on the road wasn't especially difficult, first thing I needed was a new battery and it turned over and fired after getting the petrol through. I had my local garage mot it and asked them to check the brakes, it came back with a few advisories on the mot but nothing serious. While the car was in storage I had moved it about and kept the wheels turning so it was never shall we say "left to rot".A few minor things needed attention, the window washer unit was rusted inside so I stripped it down and cleaned it up and put back together. The passenger window works from the passenger side switch but not the drivers side? A few minor tlc jobs need doing but will leave those for when I get the time as I'd rather be driving it!
Love the 993 they make so much sense now especially being the last ones that were air cooled
