I currently have my 911 up for sale, it reflects the average/ lower end price of the local market (Australia). I have had very little interest. Is there anything I should be including in the advert?

It has FSH from new with every receipt regarding general maintenance. It was subject to a complete rebuild a few years back but the folder that covered that went missing during the shipping, no idea why that was worth anything to anyone, I reckon it was moved by customs searching the vehicle then got lost.

With the history it lists every owner, every advert when sold, every piece of work done with absolutely thousands worth of receipts, even notes from the factory when being built.

I am also having a top end rebuild done, doesnt need it but one head gasket has started leaking - we changed to a much thinner oil, so might as well do it while heads are off. Just started showing rust bubbles on the sills but will get that done too so it will be in at least 8.5/10 condition. Even the gear bushes were recently done and all oil sensors/ senders, DME have also just been done. No smoke at all and runs perfectly. My mechanic is a porsche/ vw fanatic and he states its one of the best aircooled 911's he has seen. He cannot believe nobody is interested as was sure I would sell it within days. Also has agreed insurance for the same amount as I am asking so its obviously under market value (insurers allow a min of 10% to allow for fluctuation during the insurance term)

what can I do to improve my ad without sounding like a douche bag, I need to buy a house and had a baby girl, I really dont want to sell it and keep having second thoughts but then sensible brain takes over.

also have my Lotus for sale (I need to sell one not both so first sold, I will keep the other one) maybe advice on that too?

Sell the child.

It will be less trouble over the next 18 years than a baby girl. Just.

Not familiar with Aus market but that is way more than you would expect in the UK.
Also agreed insurance valuations are often 10% abve real world prices rather than 10% under (agreed valuation not being the same as a normal pay out in event of total loss).
Bottom lne? Drop the price and it will sell.

its already one of the cheapest in Australia, some of these are up for 80k+.

The reason it costs more is the import taxes, Mine was purchased in the UK for 9k gbp a few years back and I got an absolute bargain, by the time it was landed and taxes paid it owed me $45k. Thats without all the work done getting it here and the upkeep since which stands me about another $10k.

I am prepared obviously to negotiate a little but not by alot. With the values increasing in the UK - this would be worth over 20k there now as it was valued at 20k gbp when I shipped it 18 months ago (with the rebuild folder)- It takes a little while for the prices to catch up over here but they are on the up also. I just need someone to actually come look at it, I viewed about 50 when I was looking so I know this is one of the best about - In Australia or England.
