Hi guys, it seems like using the 944 as a daily driver and the fact that I am under 27 years old (I'm 26) is making my life difficult to insure it as a classic. A quote from a classic specialist ended with one of their consultants getting involved and quoting me £1090.

Standard car insurance quotes are around £1000 as well. I have 4 years no claims.

I was wondering if anyone knows whether I can get this any cheaper at all? (same boat as me at least)

You don't name your agent but I found RH Classic Insurance to be very competitive when I was in my 20's, however the concept of a classic policy is generally founded upon infrequent use and an agreed mileage, say 3000 or 5000 miles, which doesn't seem compatible with the "daily driver" levels of use you refer to.

thanks guys, ended up getting a normal policy with admiral for £700 which is still quite a hefty sum. But a man can only search for so long whilst still not being able to drive the car. I definitely have to buy a daily banger next year.

I'll try and get a quote tomorrow anyhow, I've got a 14 day grace period to cancel. Just that I've been itching to drive it this weekend. biggrin

I'm 21 and can insure a 944 with elephant with mods for £770 fully comp. 3 years NCB. Classic car insurance won't touch me though

that is impressive for a 21 year old but then the 3 year NCB.

Just had a quote from aviva and it came back almost £300 cheaper! Definitely switching for good! THanks for the suggestion!

You have 14 days cooling off period with any insurance policy so you can ditch your Admiral one and switch to Aviva. You will get your full premium back minus a small admin penalty to pay (~£75?) but would still be a substantial saving.
