So it should be for the money!!
Its a nightmare trying to get values on classics from what I can tell frown

We are looking at selling the blood orange Porsche which is basically a 1974 2.7 , under a ton modified in Switzerland to a RSR look and weighs under a ton.

The actual full spec is Porshe world June 2002 page 127.

I have done another thread but basically have reached out to a few auction sites. Speaking to a few dealers its a tricky one to value !

Demand frames the asking price. She'll sell.

Let me guess: 75k euros?

Mate sold a stunning 964 backdate 300 brake car for 80.

The pricetags on cars in showrooms are often double of the money they sell for.

Trouble with that car its as much about who did the work and I am guessing because it’s was done 20 years ago maybe not as well as the best places would do it today. That and I suppose it depends how well it’s been maintained and when the engine was rebuilt.

Why would it ever sell? It looks like a common or garden Carrera 2 that's had a massive bodykit rivetted to it and enormous wheels strapped to it. It will handle terribly, be slower than a standard C2 and in my opinion looks like an utter dog's dinner. £200k? Think of all the lovely cars you can buy for that kind of cash. This would struggle to make £40k as far as I can see.

I can remember that being for sale back when I had my 993, some time around 2010.

Blimey, 10 years! How on earth can they expect it to sell and never reduced the price. Its a total dud. totally ruined.

Reduced? It has probably trebled in "value" since it first went on "sale". I think they've just mirrored the equivalent RS price and raised it to match.

Even if there was someone out there who wanted a 993 that looked like that, how do they justify the price? Lets say a low mileage C2 in fine fettle is £60k. Where is the £140k of value spent on it or added to it? How much do fibreglass wings, pop rivets, retrimmed standard seats and massive gaudy wheels cost?

Motorhub...a quick Google and all will become clear.

Oh I'm well aware of Motorhub and that the cars are a front for a very different income stream. I remember years ago being given the advice to never buy a car in West Yorkshire or Birmingham. It's stood me well throughout my life.

As someone who grew up in Birmingham, and lived there for 35 years, I'd say that's a ridiculous stereotype. Birmingham/the West Midlands is no worse or better than any other city/region in the UK, and in the interests of balance, every city has its share of individuals (and dealers) selling cars, who are less than scrupulous.
To single out one city and a region specifically as "bad" based on what was most likely a decades old stereotype, is quite frankly, nonsense.
