SSE - SuperSport Equipment. This nomenclature was never used for a Turbo engined car, no matter how many winks you may put in your post or however many times you re-read Paul Frere's tome. smile

while i have the ultimate respect for Paul Frere, there is clearly some confusion as this quoted 7 number of cars
i do not have a total number fro Le , all completed '89 , i would suggest most significant for their 5 speed g boxes
i do however have a full list of RHD SE Uk cars ............not perfect but plenty more than 7 and globally in excess of 200
there are also ex factory very special flat noses like the Mansour car with 450 bhp not included in my former number
there is an effort to try and compile a proper list of genuine ex factory cars ........if anyone has any info on any particular please send me an email

Gmund cars had 2 or 3 RHD SEs for sale at one point, there is no way that Andrew had almost half the production in one go. I have seen way more that 7.

It's a bit like the chap that said there were only 5 RHD 356s left in the country, clearly gibberish.

I seem to recall a figure of around 30-36 LEs/SEs produced in RHD. Plus at that time ('86/'87 from memory) a number of people I knew in the PCGB had ordered Special Wishes flatnose cars. When I ran the Essex region of the PCGB, we had an Essex member turn up in a white factory built slant nose which he'd ordered - standard Turbo interior....moaned about the car park being too bumpy for him, left and presumably bought the next Big Thing at that time (Testarossa no doubt).

As an aside, there was a slightly odd looking Martini-striped & interiored SE spec car at DK Engineering's open day a couple of weeks ago. I really couldn't work out what it had started life as...

Wish I had known it was Kevin's - I haven't seen him since we ran in convoy to Auto Italia back in 2005. His Challenge Stradale was rudely noisy that day smile

I was under the impression that 50 930 LE's were sold, one for each Porsche dealer in the UK, I may be wrong as the memory isn't as good as it used to be

There are a FEW SSE flat noses , extremely rare and never seen one in the flesh. I thought they were all coupes though but I don't know for sure.

I was talking about SSE flatnoses, I.e. non turbo 3.2 Supersports with flatnose. The turbo is the SE.

The last LE
"This must be the highest specification LE built,"
"Mr Cassel retained the car for six years carefully storing the car during this period but never driving it, thus after six years it had covered less than 250 miles"

One of only three UK cars to feature the 350 bhp engine upgrade.

I had bought a brand new White one back in 1989 "G700 WTF" and sold it for over list price..... I then saw it advertised about 8 years later with 13,000 miles on it and I bought it back..... Kept it about 3 years only did 4 or 5K in it so I sold it from memory £35K......! weeping but we all know hindsight is a wonderful thing......!scratchchin

Don't even bother. He seems to think that Porsche termed these turbo cars 'SSE'. Which, as you and I know, they didn't

Hi all,

As far as I can establish

Factory Porsche 911 Turbo SE (SSE?) "flatnose coupe" RHD 39 made (but several non-flatnose were returned to te factory and converted to flatnose)

Factory Porsche 911 Turbo SE (SSE?) "flatnose" cabrio RHD 7 or 9 made (not sure)

Factory Porsche 911 Turbo LE RHD 53 made

Factory Porsche 911 Turbo-bodied Speedser RHD 63 made

Factory Porsche 911 narrow-bodied Speedster RHD 7 made

This is "best guess" - the only way to establish the exact numbers is to get a list of ALL the cars from Porsche or Porsche GB.

There is a list of the 911 Turbo SE "Flatnose" coupe and cabs in existance - does anyone know where it came from or can they share it?

For those that would possibly know...

Was there ever a final final ltd edition that was limited to 5. Wider than the standard LE, bigger wing, deeper wheels, no slats on the rear arches, bigger whale tale and more boost? A chap i know seems to recall his father having one...it was lhd, but he cant find pics of it (no reason to doubt him, he has many high end cars in his family). Just curious if there ever was anything like this out there, or if it was something like a DP/RUF edition...or indeed fantasy.

Cheers
