In early 1973, John Sprinzel did a Pirreli Tire Advert, which had him standing next to his RS.
It looked as if it were a Black Touring ( Sunroof car ) has it survived ?

New an RS was circa £6,250, a fortune back then, but a 3.0CSL had a list of £6,999, rising to £7,399 by June 73 !
But just circa £3,500 bought you a new V-12 E Type !

There were at least two black UK, RSTs - John Watson was given one by Hexagon and still owns it. Another went to the States.

Thanks for the reply, so it's possible that Sprinzels car may ? Have gone to the States. What other dark colors were offered ?

According to the bible, there were at least thirteen black cars originally delivered new to England.

If I'm reading it correctly, the registration displayed in the advert (1 FMG) is now on a Rolls Royce Phantom.

I had heard somewhere before that John Watson had one. Amazing he still has it ! Derek Bell and Chris Amon both had 3.0CSLs

Anyone remember an issue of Supercar Classics which ran a feature on a rather attractive lady businesswoman who was running a black one as her everyday car ? I think the mag followed the overhaul of this car.
