2.7 RS - White - MYX 4 L - DSJs Road Test
Discussion
In early January 1973, the British Concessionaires received their first Carrera RS and the Late, Great DSJ promptly grabbed it for a road test for the then best car mag going, Motor Sport magazine. His test appeared in the February 73 edition.
DSJ " Jenks " was Motor Sports " European Corespondent " covering many thousands of miles each year, mainly reporting on the European Race Scene and had for a long time been a big Porsche fan, running a 356 for some years ( and eventually writing a great book called " A Passion For Porsche" ( anyone have a copy ? )
He didn't see the new 911 when first launched as a step forward, from the 356, so bought instead a new 65 E Type FHC, which he grew very fond of over the next 5 years.
However when the the 2.7 RS appeared in 73 here at last, was a Porsche with " Steam " and not just "poke". His road tests always make great reading and his RS one is no exception.
Has this RS survived ? Hard to tell, but from the photos it looks as if it were a Non Sunroof car.
