I'm not sure if this post should be here or in the "front engined" forum - but it's certainly a classic and I felt it would get more of a viewing here !

I've had quite a lot of Porsches but never a 928 - I quite fancy a really early car as in this......

http://www.rpmtechnik.co.uk/sales/vehicle/928-4-5/

I seem to recall it being advertised in the same place around eighteen months ago - and evidently it's had a lot of work - and it seems to have everything I'd be looking for i.e Early car - manual - pasha - original spec - guards red ( to match my 3.2 ) - truly eighties-tastic !

I've never driven one - any ideas on ......... driving / maintainence / costs to run / spares availability etc etc etc

I appreciate this is at the top end of the scale from a pricing point of view but it seems to have had everything done to it ( famous last words ! )

Oh and is it worth swapping my Lancia Integrale Evo 2 and Peugeot 205 Gti 1.9 for ??????

Any comments welcome

Thanks

Steve

Looks lovely - although does it say in the ad when all that work was done?
A friend had a later model for awhile and loved it but it cost him a small fortune, but if you've owned old Porsches you'll know all about this (although Ive heard that 928s can top the lot).
I borrowed one for a few weeks and it was a lot of fun (although if you are tall the cabin is surprisingly cramped), but I wouldn't swap it for the two cars you mention unless you are bored and fancy a change

I bought a 4.5 auto recently as I needed 4 seats. It's great. Comfortable, very solid feeling and looks great. I've owned several tvrs and find the performance decent enough. It gets loads of attention but very practical as well. I would go for it if you can stretch to the asking price.
