I was wondering if anyone has had problems insuring themselves or there children on there classic Porsches? I am 23 and last month my dad tried to put me on the insurance for his 1977 Carrera 3.0. I was very shocked when they turned round and told him not until i am 28, which seems a bit harsh considering I have been insured on the other cars in the fleet like range rovers and now a new S4. I understand it's a totally different kind of car with no electronic assistance, just surprised about how long wouldn't have bothered me if they said 25. So if anyone has any experience in doing this or can simply tell me if that's the way it is, it would be appreciated.

It's probably a bit sad that this bothered me so much but I have been dying to drive this car since i was 10.

Thanks
Elliot

It'll be very insurance company specific. So a company good at insuring old bearded men on classic 911s may well not be good at insuring young tear-aways on classic 911s.

You'll just have to shop around with your Dad. However, I think many will want 25 year olds.
