I personally prefer that targa at Paragon to a similar priced 991 or 997. in fact a 991 targa would be circa £100k + and its never as cool as the classic targa and will only be worth £50k after 3 years. I do not understand why spending £70k on a classic car is silly money and buying a 991 and losing £50k seems okay.
This is the irony,a £100k 991 is never as cool as a classic- any Bobby Trendy would prefer to cruise the A1 in an SC rather than a new 911. You don't get many bankers or estate agents driving the old skool cars.
Keep it real- '915 not PDK' is the motto to adhere to when buying a 911.
Surprisingly, some people buy sports and performance cars because they actually relish the experience of high performance driving in itself and are not particularly bothered about 'looking cool.'
Thats goes without saying old bean. I think you'll find most Porsche owners choose Porsche because its such a well resolved high performance driving experience. I believe if you can drive an air-cooled 911 well it makes you a better driver over all. The fact they look sub zero cool (to me anyway) as well in an understated way is a nice bonus. If Porsche wasn't such a no nonsense well engineered product with relatively low running costs most of us would be driving something else. wink

£140k for a nut and bolt restoration car by OPC Hatfield. If the car in OP is straight unrestored low mileage car I'd rather have that although this car is gorgeous but £100k more!!!

The interior with a suede dash, red bezels etc. is an abomination. What were they thinking of.
As for 993 GT2's I think the asking is now £1,000,000. That does make me wince a bit, well quite a lot actually. But I would have probably stopped driving mine completely once it had reached £300,000. Then when do you bail out. £3,4,5, god knows. Wait till they are £2,000,000 cars.
A very good mate of mine and well respected car dealer said to me a good while back. Don't you just wish they were £50K cars again. Then you could just enjoy them for what they were intended for.

2 months ago close friend of mine sold a low mileage RHD 993GT2 for £650k. It was priced in line with the 2 other very similar cars which were for sale at that moment.

Market may have jumped £350k since then but I doubt it.

I think it just goes to show how barmy the market is at the moment. A rather well known Orange CS. Chap who owns it turned down just such a bid for his car.

Obviously, but there's a reason folk buy classic Porsche instead of buying a Ford Focus RS -which would be
far faster,cheaper and more convenient.
