I've tried google and the manual but can't see how to turn it off. Is it possible? can anyone help? Please...

yes it is possible as mine is off I dont remember the exact instructions but it was under traffic announcement in radio functions I think it was a hold down on one of the bottom buttons iirc

Hold in the TEL button for more than two seconds - you should see the "TP" on the display go out.

Hi Martin, I've done that and it works for 'TP' but I have "TMC" still on and can't get it off so traffic reports keep interrupting the radio etc.

I'm sure that stopped it on mine... From what I can see in the manual, TMC is for navigation traffic guidance, it's TP that controls the announcements. My 993's zipped up in an outdoor Carcoon at the moment so won't be able to check, hopefully someone else can shed more light, good luck.

That makes sense, I must be doing it wrong. I'll reset it tomorrow and see what happens. many thanks.
