Good luck, it's a long day but worth it.
Blimey, how long does it take?! I was thinking 4-5 hours!

Tbh mine was about an hour or two sorting vacuum leaks first then mapping so it was a full day almost. The drive home was cool though!

So, after about 4 hours or so with Wayne, this was the end result: a shade under 296bhp @ ~6200rpm, and I calculated max torque as a rather whopping 267lbft @ 5000rpm. Overall I am very pleased with the results - the engine is smooth as silk at lower speeds now which is very nice (I always thought it was just me being a bit clumsy with the gas hehe) and basically a nice little chunk of power has been added everywhere. When she lifts off at 4000rpm to run to the redline it's mega, couldn't have asked for more. And the best bit for me is the character of the power delivery hasn't changed, you still have to work the engine but it's even more rewarding when you do now. And I could swear she sounds even angrier now biggrin

Also, kudos to Porsche: after 132K miles and 24 years, her initial dyno of 285bhp was pretty unbelievable. Given that the final power gains weren't silly numbers, the initial number seems pretty reliable. Wayne seemed to think it was one of the highest NVR ones he'd seen, and that the engine def hadn't been assembled on a Friday afternoon at the factory hehe Also, I'd take this as pretty strong evidence that if you fit Carnewal's 993 mufflers like I have there doesn't seem to be any negative impact even on a car with a standard map.

excellent, good guy and a nice result. mine was a 97 C2S varioram and with stock cats/ rsr type exhaust cans i made 304bhp after, so not a lot of difference in the two. as you said, so much smoother!
