Better off finding a 2.4E or S for the same money. Will hold their value better and are every bit as nice to drive as an RS rep. This particular car is silly money imho.
Yes, RS Reps are really hard to buy as if they are done properly (like this one might be) with motor, gearbox, suspension, brakes, body, interior, they cost silly money to build and are no more than er replicas. However to be in a 72 911 that drives pretty exactly as, and to all intents and purposes is the same as an RS at 1/4 of the cost might not be that bad an idea!

Not sure I'd worry too much about the value. It'll rise and fall with the market I reckon. You could argue that original cars might fare better in a falling market - ie fall at a lower rate, but who knows.

At the end of the day, if it's what the OP wants, fits his budget, properly checks out, it should be a nice car.

One point, which may or may not bother you, but just to be a pedant, its a 72 and therefore has the outside oil filler flap. This wasnt the case on the RS.

p.s. try and get the engine type no. If its a 911/83 case then its from a 73 RS or a 74/5/6 euro carrera - if you get the engine number itself you can work out which.
If it is a genuine RS engine then its worth a fair bit more than another 7r cased engine.
I'd say its top money for an RS rep -if it was me, I'd want to be very thorough on checking the details of the various parts.

That's why you need an expert, there are loads of things to check. Then you'll need to decide whether you care about the oil flap, or whether it's a 7R case or a genuine 2.7MFI case, or whether the wheel arches are genuine RS or G50, whether the trailing arms are right and the brake calipers and the shocks and on and on!
That's why it's hard to buy. But could be worth it.
