Air cooled Porsche becoming very collectible but what model

I'm not sure the chap is really interested in how they drive. He does equations, he's an investor...
If he's an investor he's missed the aircooled boat (or most classic cars). It's all toppy and coming off the boil. Personally if I was investing I'd wait to see if the economy gets worse and a few more 'investment' cars hit the market as those holding them get itchy feet or stretched.
And no these aren't worth £90k.

They weren’t worth £30k. Personally if I was investing I'd wait to see if the economy gets worse and a few more 'investment' cars hit the market as those holding them get itchy feet or stretched.
And no these aren't worth £90k.

Priorities seem to be - Coupe, manual, rwd, ex-Factory original specification, immaculate condition (no rust), FSH, low owners, and, like it or not, low mileage.
Can't comment on the blue car above, although wouldn't be my taste. Lots have been messed about with and messed up, so it would take an expert independent PPI and caveat emptor.
For the money some people ask for tired old 'mutton dressed as lamb' aircooleds, I far rather buy a Boxster/Cayman.

That’s not even close to an rsr body ... it’s a stock body with a fibreglass front bumper and ducktail spoiler
It's just a direct cut and paste from the sale ad:"Now available for sale, Porsche 911 SC with RSR body kit, any interest, please contact for full details."
Jim it has a sunroof mate so this will make it practically worthless

As there appears to be one or two air-cooled meisters here, could someone please let me know what I should pay for a car like this?
It is a 911 SC with RSR body kit. Other than that I have no other info at present other than the price. Rough ballpark will do
Depends on the spec, looks nice but probably less than a standard SC because people prefer originality and fear new paint! It is a 911 SC with RSR body kit. Other than that I have no other info at present other than the price. Rough ballpark will do
Each to their own, but that's all so wrong!

Well the reason I asked the question is because a few posts above there was talk of £90K SC's. Well this Gulf coloured one is under £30k. So I was thinking of buying it.
In respect of my air-cooled knowledge; perhaps it is a good thing that I'm not so well informed. As for me, this example looks perfectly fine. I'm also not one for worrying about originality for the sake of originality. I put far more impetus on how rewarding the car is to drive. The fact it has a new coat of paint to me indicates that any rust issues have likely been dealt with. So armed with no info other than the picture and the price, I'm wondering if the PH collective AC guys, also agree that it seems a reasonable price. One of the wiper arms looks a bit wonky mind...

Its nothing like any rsrbody, would look better properly back dated.
A new coat of paint can also hide a multitude of horrors.
Whats the running gear
Could be a money pit or a reasonable buy in todays market,be very carefull but worth a look may be,as to restore a old sc can be the asking price easily, looks a easy convert back to look like a nice sc.

Well, there was probably an article about the values of air-cooled sports cars from Stuttgart in the Wall Street Journal or Manager Magazine. And as the chap has already invested in vintage Rolexes, he thought he'd give this Porsche-thing a go...Gassing Station | Porsche Classics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
