Hi there,

I’ve had some money burning a hole in my pocket since selling my London flat in the summer and moving to the midlands and made my mind up that I would like a turbo bodied red 80’s Carrera Sport Coupe to replace our 987 cayman. (We used to have an MGB GT so I appreciate classics are not always convient etc)

Anyway whilst being shocked at the price for a turbo bodied car I convinced myself ‘you could almost get a leggy turbo for that money...’ and then I got stuck on a train for 3 hours Thursday... then registered for an auction at the other end of the country... then got caught up in the heat of the moment and won this turbo, site unseen...

I WAS feeling brave but now less so, I’ve noticed the bumpers don’t look right for a 930? Apparently it went to Australia first then UK.

Anything else look bad or out of the ordinary to you guys?

More pics when I see it (these were from the ad)

Thanks,

Rick

I think I’m just being paranoid smile

I was feeling lucky and convinced myself after watching a petrolicious video of a white 930 looking good.... and the guy was a dad... and I found out last weekend we’re now expecting (so cayman has to go before something sensible takes its space etc!)

It’s basically virgins fault for trapping me on the train for 3 hours with free Wifi!

And the radio must go! Any suggestions on what to replace it with?

My first ride in a Porsche was in a white SC aged about 14. It was a non turbo but had the whale tail EBC 678T

Enjoy it!

If it was cheap enough there's little to worry about. Enjoy.

Looks really nice that. Can’t comment on the condition but as others have said get it to a good Indy (RPM Technic are really good) and ask them to look over it for you.

Either way hope it’s all good - loving the white on white look .

Keep everyone updated and good luck smile

Radio - check out https://www.bergvillfx.com/index.php/products/car-...

This company has a very good reputation in the 964/993 community and I assume the radios they sell would work in an earlier air-cooled as well. Much cheaper the Porsche Classic

MOT history isn't throwing up a lot of horrors - although it hasn't been used much in the last 10 years

White white - very nice - congrats that looks awesome
Don’t Porsche do this old style radio with modern tech - possibly Becker - always thought those looked quite nice (might still be a bit too modern for this car though)
