Just beautiful! Always wanted the original 930 3.0. Great colour combo, very 70s.
Shame they've become too valuable.
You say it's torquey and don't need to change gear much but aren't they very laggy?
No, because they weigh next to nothing and modern tech caught up they have surprisingly good grip and offer a smooth drive. Of course this 930 was one of the best, recently sold by the top Porsche Center in NL. Laggy: a 1.6 turbo in a Passat or a 1.3 turbo in the new A-class is laggy Just shift and rev and the 930 will make all your dreams come true. I adored it!Shame they've become too valuable.

I know someone with a low owner low mileage concourse 1976 930 turbo maybe for sale soon. 75,000 verified miles and the cars a minter. Bronze with tan interior and photographed on the back of a trailer being delivered new with Steve McQueens slate grey turbo of same vintage. The cars stunning.
the early 3.0 were relatively light, but they put on weight as they aged. I had a '89 G50 5 sp box 3.3 and you'd never describe it as light, in fact it felt like a heavy old bus to drive to be honest. bloody fast when on song though, but ultimately they drive in a pretty different manner to an early narrow body n/a 911.

I'm not convinced that the weighty feel is entirely down to the mass of the two cars. Or actually very much to do with it!Much more to do with tyre size and setup I reckon.
