I have issues with fakes at £105k

back dates and reps can be nice if you really really want one, but they are still fakes. it's a LHD £25k 911t with non matching numbers at the end of the day.

I like the hot rod idea but less happy about fakes. They also do feel slow in todays traffic, imo you need over taking power.

if you want an air cooled car buy a 964 at least it has proper sus and was a full redesign.

If you want a classic buy a real 911E/S or some thing.

£100k on a fake gets you a real 997.2 GT3 !!!
Spot on

that car is simply not worth the money being asked. It doesnt matter how good the bits are (and they sound good), its still a bitsa

I had a 2.7 mfi powered "hotrod" built by Tuthills, similar to this car but not an RS rep, more bespoke, Slate Grey with RS spec rear arches.

It was a lovely thing, based on a 72 E, oil flap etc.

When I unfortunately had to sell it, it was a nightmare ...no-one wanted to know. In the end Tuthills bought it off me as I had a good relationship with them, but it cost me a packet. Usual rule of thumb is anything like this is worth 50-70% of the build cost.

The market for these kind of things is tiny. Most people spending that money on a 70s Porsche want something factory correct, and highly likely have other fast modern cars, so the speed, or lack of, isnt really an issue

saying all of that, for the right price, I'd take the decals and ducktail off, i'd fit some RSR spec frosted wheels, maybe some yellow spots and it would IMHO look a lot cooler
How much time was this?

Hi

I had my first experience with an aircooled 911 yesterday. A 1972 RS Evocation. Wow what a difference 35 years make compared to my 2007 997 GT3.
Fantastic experience, you really have to put all your input to driving these cars.
It has been fully restored and is beautiful.
But could I be happy with only this and not my gt3. A complete change of driving

A RHD 72 RS Touring was first air-cooled 911 I ever drove. Talk about being spoilt!!!

Yes it was a lovely car. Engine was built using RS 2.7 parts, Injection , pistons heads crank. For sale now to me for around £95,000 £122,000 of parts and labour plus the original car. Complete full strip down and rebuilt.
The GT3 would have to go in the end. A move to a new group of enthusiasts with air cooled.

Make sure you have her inspected by someone like Autofarm before buying if you do go ahead with purchase - she looks stunning in Viper.
