The Chesil 356 is a replica. From experience I can tell any replica offers a so much different drive to the original thing. A 356 (912) engine revs, for instance...
Sadly a Chesil is as close to a real 356 we can get/afford. Just thought I would share the pictures.

I also would love an original 356 speedster.,but unfortunately I can not afford one. I have my 997 Gt3 but always wanted a speedster.
Anyway I also have a replica made in the USA by vintage speedsters.

what do you think of it Darren ?
I narrowly missed out on driving an original.
A good friend sold it before I had a chance to drive it.
Those that did said it was just the most beautiful driving experience

My vintage speedster Replica was factory build in 2010. I was not the original owner.
As for as driving experience go its total fabulous. When I drive the car I never feel stressed at all. Even in traffic jams. Just enjoy the sun , when it comes out.
Mine still uses the VW Beetle suspension and running gear. It has a few handling upgrades which make it a fun drive. Disc brakes unassisted on the front. And running a 85hp VW 1915 flat for engine. Car weight 700 KG

Funny the handling is very precise and direct, no nanny aids and can keep with modern traffic no problem.
Its a totally different experience to my GT3. I seemed to get stressed in the GT3 if in stuck in traffic or cant use the car to its potential.

I'm in Southend if anyone wants to have a look or come for a drive.

Three very special Porsche 356 specimens:

Amazing trio of fantastic runners and owners who care.

A landscape of patina on this coupe.

The other end of the spectrum is this grey beauty. I could not keep my eyes from this 356.
