1980 911 SC 3.0 rear seat belts retrofit

Hi All,

I’m looking to buy a set of rear seat belts so I can put the kids in the back of a 911 SC.

I can see there are bolts where the belts could have been fitted but seems they were never installed from the factory - no wear marks on the plastics or scratches on the bolts.

I can see there are lots on eBay but wondered what is the best option? Could I fit 993 ones for example?

I am pretty sure that the internal shell structure around the rear tub is no different from SC to 993 so the rear belts should be okay. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in

At best they would have had lap belts, and the fittings are there for them. But no 3 point belt mountings unless originally there.

I got Quickfit Sestbelts in London to git mine properly. Did an excellent job.

I think you’re right, only bolts in place for a lap belt. Did the garage drill or weld something in for the 3 point fitting? Any details appreciated

Not sure exactly. But all looks oem with correct holes on the parcel shelf so looks original.

They did a brilliant job and were able to re-use my original fittings from the lap belts. Very very happy.
