Good to hear. Mine had a top end rebuild due to valves issues at just over 60k (97 variorum).

Much more impressive. Do you use the clutch?

More bhp than the official spec. Pretty impressive. I imagine Porsche have always been conservative with their figures.

That's great news and the engine is obviously in rude health. Beware the legendary 9M dyno though, better for before and after comparisons than absolute power numbers from my experience.

Clutch confused

1st and straight to 6th and away you go and back again. Surely that’s the way to use the legendary torque of the flat six air cooled engine .... biggrin

That’s Chipwizards dyno ... where my 996 turbo is going as soon as lockdown and Wayne’s schedule allows!!

Looks like it's hit the sweet spot on mileage.

I had the original clutch changed on mine at around 100k. Not because it was warn, but because the gearbox was out to fix an annoying leak.

Good to see. I'm up at 195k in my '95 C2 - hopefully mine is similarly healthy. Also have Wayne on the wishlist...

thats the 9M dyno.

where 964 and 993s frequently post very high numbers....

take it with a grain of salt, but good going for your original engine!

Can’t be many cars where the answer to the question “has it had an engine rebuild” is yes and the follow on “what’s the mileage since rebuild” is c. 360k km... no I meant since the rebuild not total mileage ....

Car looks good - I always loved the way the 993 S cars look, would love to get this as my daily and try to get it to 1 million - probably get there with one more engine rebuild (that might actually be due now/soon given mileage since last one)
