Herts/Essex Indy dealer recommendations please

Jardine Motors authorised Porsche Centre in Cambridge. Good on prices and service; not much more than JZM and RPM Technic. If they screw up you can involve Porsche UK, you also get a stamp from in the service book which will carry weight with future purchasers that the work was carried out on the date specified.

DSD motorwerks, Billericay??
He looked after my 964 twin turbo for 6 years and still keeps on top of my 914-6.
He rebuilt the box last year.
His skills stretch from early 356’s through to the odd 991, but the core of his work is aircooled.
Often has intersting projects on, with two 935’s being worked on a month back which in my eyes are aircooled royalty.
I would also recommend Dave at DSD Motorwerks, very thorough and really knows his stuff, they are my two 935s he currently has in the shop, although they should both not be there much longer! He looked after my 964 twin turbo for 6 years and still keeps on top of my 914-6.

HP Porsche near Fairlop / Woodford have been good to me so far. (1 major service, 2 minor, and they've fitted a short-shift kit too.)
I'd never use HP again.Glad you had a better experience with them
I've recently bought a 996 and need an east london / essex indy - was thinking about trying them.
also https://www.porschespecialistservices.co.uk/ get good reviews - any experience of using them?

As the OP I asked this question having used HP, but wouldn’t again!
Ah, thats who you were reffering to...Can I ask why, general problem with them or specific to your car? I think i read somewhere that someone left recently and it wasnt what it was.
Edit - just seen on another forum - he did leave and set up porsche specilist services with someone from design 911, maybe i'll try them 1st

That’s interesting, any chance you could share the forum that’s on.
I wonder if it’s referring to Joe who set up HP but sold out?
He seemed good to me & has years & years of knowledge.
I see, hp are really close to where I live but I think i'll try pps 1st for the service and a few bits that need doing on the car later this year.
I read it here: http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?p=1592161

Thanks for that. Interesting but can’t see that Joe’s involved. I read it here: http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?p=1592161
If you do use PPS I’d appreciate any feedback etc, thanks.

No mention of a joe, but will update here when I use them

I’ve used PPS for my 993 Turbo and Cayenne for the last couple of years and they have been nothing but excellent with both. No nonsense and reasonable!
Local to me and saved me a long journey to my previous independent brought on by covid (no need to go into London for work after dropping car off) but glad it made me look closer to home.
I have also found that they are not looking for items to fix/change when not required, just fixing what needs fixing.
Good honest independent!
They are busy so don’t expect to get booked in straight away!

Used JZM for number of years on my 993. Very happy at first but think the last few years they are really more interested in the rairer models, Turbo’ etc. Moved to Jaz and Rey happy.
Steve McHale who founded JZM and was the expert on the older cars retired a few years ago. I’d agree I’ve got an air cooled car which won’t be going back there….they charge very high labour rates and you’re not getting the expertise/service commensurate with that. RPM in my experience are cheaper and are much more thorough. They are also honest about which cars they’re good at and which ones they have less expertise with. Quite a lot of suggestions, which is good as I'm new to the Porsche world and live on the edge of Essex.
I've been using AMS Porsche in Kimpton, their rates are really reasonable https://www.amsporsche.com. These guys doing engine rebuilds (they send the blocks to Hartech) on water and air cooled.
Has anybody used this company? http://www.porschatech.com
