Top money for a C2 so very high expectations with that one.

Why does it say Carrera S on the back when it clearly isn't? Just don't understand people claiming there car is something it's not

I've just seen that. with a 2 year warranty? it'd be down to normal service costs for that period, so would be worth a few k more than normal.

I'd like 2wd and manual.

110k, recent ish clutch, cold aircon.

Any outside opinions from those who know the cars better than me.
I think it looks stunning. Midnight blue like any dark colour takes a bit of looking after. I prefer the lighter grey interior over the darker grey. Get a thorough PPI carried out and enjoy many happy smiles of motoring.
I've owned three 993's over the years. A narrow bodied tip and a C2S tip. They are all great cars. Had a good race in the C2S tip against a manual narrow bodied C2 and it could not live with our C2S tip. The reality is that some Porsches are just quicker than others. Another example. Two 993 GT2's. Both running K24 turbos. Both impeccably maintained. My car was running 1 bar of boost the other car 1.1 bar of boost. On the same day on the same dyno back to back my car made 20 bhp more

I do appreciate the photographs of the open cassette holders in close-up, but it's a shame they couldn't bring themselves to photograph the engine bay rolleyes

Am no expert re prices, but it looks like a thing of beauty.

Have only had water cooled, but gather that the wide body 993s look the business, but are less fun to drive. However given how few and far good specimens of manual 2WD are likely to be I wouldn't let that put you off.

Have fun looking.
£80 grand, I nearly spat my tea out !
Memories are flooding back of when I was on the hunt for a 964 / 993 in 2006, to replace a 3.2 Carrera.
My choice was either black metalic or dk metalic blue, but every one had marble / grey leather, which I loathe.

In the end I bought a Griff 500.
As much as I like the 993 there are Far more capable cars out there for far less money.
In fact I would go for a 964 C2 if I were in the market for one, but again, I really don’t see these cars @ the kind of crazy prices they are now.

I have owned the same 993 for 22 years. Bought from OPC Hamburg and was first registered as Dealer principles cars (guessing that means probably a demo car), sold to a private buyer who traded it in with same OPC 18 months later for a new 996.

Have had some other interesting cars during this time including a proper 6.2 C63 and DB9 and still have the Porsche. I did have the suspension totally refreshed about 8 years ago which got the handling back the way it should have been. Set up for fast road. In the bendy bits the 993 is way better than an aston and could keep pace with C63. It’s such a small car and easy to place. It handles like a go kart yet is great for long road trips. Have done 1000 miles in a day on occasion and regularly does 400 mile trips.

Always garaged, and serviced by JAZ in St Albans since 2002. It’s needed two steering racks (recall Porsche had some issues with them), rebuilt a/c 2 years ago and a clutch 10 years ago. I always warm her up before hoofing her and use regularly hence 105k miles.

Only one small spot of rust on the surface of a front wing. I’ve checked other side and it’s on the top surface only and not gone through but struggling to find anyone skilled or interested enough to just work on the 2p size rust bubble. Everyone wants to respray wing and blend across door and bonnet - this cars never been painted and other than that one spot is in great condition and had 3m chip protection on front end since I got her. Happy to have a very small amount of paint that’s not a 100% match rather than have them respray too much.

Polar silver and black interior with factory fitted option al LSD.

I’m a fan - sorry about the essay smile find one that’s been looked after and has had the suspension setup. I think they are the best driving car out there you can use everyday and will be around when the current cars have all expired due to electrical gremlins.

They are massively expensive to own/run UNLESS you can do work on them yourself
OR you are myopIc about what is wrong with the car. I’ve seen some good 993’s and I have a good idea what it cost to get them and keep them that way.
Those spouting on about regular servicing being all that’s required haven’t had someone who knows what their doing go over their car. Many are happy on ignorance.
At 110k hopefully their are folders of invoices showing what’s been done. I’d wager there will be yet more that needs doing. Buy with caution.
Totally agree with this bit.

Don't agree that they are not engaging to drive. They are. And they're full of charm.

I've a 4 post lift at home, not scared of spanners, the total opposite.

There's a few new c2s's(manual) that have been listed that i'm looking at.

Spec looks good. Sports seats are desirable. Clutch change is a positive. Needs a good going over to check for corrosion and oil leaks. This would be part of any professional pre purchase inspection.

Can't comment on the price. I bought mine many years ago before the silliness started.
