I struggled to find a good solution for the exhaust on my 3.6 in an earlier shell. I've been running the original 993 headers with a butchered, earlier 2 in silencer grafted on;
Given the angle of the inlets it wasn't doing a lot of silencing and I think it was a little restrictive. I considered getting a custom one made, but haven't seen any that I liked enough.
Bursch (and many others) have been making 1 5/8" headers for a long time but these are too small for the 993 exhaust ports and would have choked the engine at higher revs. They've recently started making 1 3/4" headers with heat exchangers and these are a pretty much perfect match for the ports. Using their Y pipes and a 997 GT3 silencer you can switch between "quiet" and loud too.
They look well made and the 3-1 collectors look lovely. I'm unsure how useful the small heat exhangers around the collectors will be, but it rarely gets driven in cold, damp weather and some heat is better than no heat. I can't wait to see what difference it's made to the sound and the way it revs.

This 9m car is up sale at for £225,000. Seems very poorly priced when the same model, by 9m, sold for a lot less than that fairly recently at £132,000.

The Bonhams car a good buy but wrong colour IMO. I like Colin’s creations but have never understood why his commissions come up for sale so soon after completion. Vendor will have taken a bath on that. https://www.theoctanecollection.com/cars/porsche-9...

that system does look good, hope it works out for your 911 SC with the 3.6 with what standard power? 275 or so? maybe with that exhaust system and a fine tuning 300hp? would be nice.They look well made and the 3-1 collectors look lovely. The Varioram was putting out 303bhp on the Chipwizard dyno when mapped on the old exhaust. That said I've heard it can read a smidge high. I do think the new one will make a bit of difference, or at least move the curve higher up the range.heres my backdate, spent 4-5 years building it.
its a 88 930 LHD delivered new in germany, orginally in black same as it is now. Unusual donor..
Its a 2.8 RSR tribute, built by Differs near Amsterdam - they specialize in 2.8 RSR hot rods.
Richard Chamberlain built 3.25L , GT3 crank Schrick cams Motec and on AT Power ITBs.
320 BHP at 6400 RPM, mated to a G50 box.
KW Competition Clubsport coilovers.
Sadly soon to be advertised for sale due to family property needing to be settled privately.
Pricing likely to be similar to the car above here, and that is less than what it cost to build...

This looks lovely! But I don‘t understand: is the engine still turbocharged? I‘m asking because of the GT3 cam and also because I would have expected a higher output from a turbocharged engine. its a 88 930 LHD delivered new in germany, orginally in black same as it is now. Unusual donor..

If turbo, are you still running the original KKKs? What pressure?
Ah yes… I shouldn‘t post pre morning coffee.
Didn‘t knew turbo engines where used as base for a n/a build. Just read on the internet that Porsche used the Carrera RS 3.0 engine and then added some KKK turbos. So makes a lot of sense! And also I never actively though about it, but yes it makes sense that ITBs and turbos are mutually exclusive. Or are they?

Throttle Bodies and Turbochargers are not mutually exclusive, but the Throttle Bodies have to be sealed. In that sense they are similar to how carburettor fuelled cars such as the original Lotus Esprit Turbo had to be sealed to accept the forced induction from the turbocharger. I would guess that using turbo engine bottom ends is down to the fact that they are engineered to cope with increased power.
