That is a lot of carpeting eek I like this old school carpet. On the floor where it belongs!
It doesn't belong on door cards, seat backs or rear seat cushion. Also it has rear seats backrests and cushions, but no seat belts?

Here is the build of this car on the SRAAT homepage: https://www.drivestraat.com/detail/Custom-Porsche-...

To mey eyes, this is a very nice restauration, with a custom colour and some custom interior bits. Mechanically it sound very nice for a '83 SC!
According to the configurator on their site, the cost of this was $210k!

Richard Chamberlain,

Whilst it's a bit of a mad thing, it isn't and never was a 935

Not really

A 1972 911E modified to resemble a 935 is not a 935

Its a full blown racecar based on a porsche shell.
the 935 is based on the 930. But some of them had other donor vehicles too. Its racing, stuff happens - you grab what you can.

Pretty similar car once you have strengthened the 72E shell up to 930 stiffness and width, hence my comment.

But anyway, no point arguing about. Rather discuss restomods in here as per the thread title

Would that be the much older, much rustier, much softer, completely ungalvanised shell ??

hehe

“Of cource, if your basis was a 911T - alot more modifications would be needed. much older and softer shell - not to mention rust - its not even galvanized. 930 got that in the late 70s I believe”

lol, yes you can make an old F-model both stiffer and better for racing than a stock 930, that wasnt the point.
The point was out of the box.

700-800 bhp and 700 Lbt/torque driven to within an inch of its life... Yes I would want to stiffen that shell up up a tad .
richards car is bonkers and no he has never claimed its a 935, its just what it looks like and he used to have a flatfan "935" ( notice the ears) engine in here hence the name.

as I said, semantics lol

Hi Paul. Hope you’re well ?
I wasn’t suggesting the car was or wasn’t the real thing. I was merely pulling Mintbird’s leg over the relative wobbliness of the older shells (his words, not mine) smile

I repeat what I said in my post to Yellow, that being I’ve not suggested the car was or wasn’t the genuine article (as an aside I know it’s not) I was merely joshing with you regarding the previous comments you made about the early non-Turbo shells earlier in this thread smile

Hi Slippy i was not suggesting you ,about richards car.
All them cars are wobbly including 996 and 997.

Look at this 911, turbo looks, 935 parts also and 1000hp and lightweight parts a lot.
179k euro car is in Stockholm, for the money cost of building and parts and ow classic, build on a 05-1965 Porsche 912 and all changed.

you have to change the language if your not from there :-)
