Just seen a post on FB from them on the SC RS . Looks a lovely build and more everyday I guess . No idea on pricing but I’m guessing around the 400k mark ?
SC RS is north of that now, I think the first five were about £400k. Tuthill's hot rods were I suppose traditionally ST Reps, those are more than £400k now to order/spec from what I understand.

Awesome cars but eye watering money these days.
You also see a lot of resto-mods for sale shortly after build, even the likes of Singer. Always surprises me when owners go to such lengths of personalisation, which more than likely will not appeal to the next owner. Maybe the lengthy build journey is the part some owners enjoy or the reality does not live up to the expectation? Also the residuals seem very punishing in some cases.

Crikey, looks like anyone can have the same motor that revs to 12k RPM now.

£36k (inc vat) for the heads… I assume standard cranks/piston/rods etc aren’t up to 12k rpm… what would the rest of the motor cost to take advantage of them?

Ridiculous that a relatively old, simple motor can be developed to such an extent biggrin

The motor in the 911k isn't based on the 964/993, though, is it? If my calcs are correct, it's using a 66mm crank (same as a 2 litre) with the 100mm barrels from a 964 to give a very oversquare 3.1 litre engine that will rev to the moon without overly excessive piston speeds. And no doubt all of those parts are finely machined billet items rather than 60 year old originals. Just adding these heads to an existing engine won't unlock all of those revs.

Clearly, although the fact Swindon Motorsport are actively marketing parts used in the build (which they did) means they will no doubt build you a motor that revs to 12k - not 11k for any resto mod.

PH article states :

"Somewhat predictably, it reckons there are ‘substantial’ increases in both power and torque. Best of all is what this new head can do for revs, the overhauled valvetrain permitting up to 12,000rpm if somebody were inclined to embark on a very serious engine rebuild."

That "very serious engine build" would no doubt utilise a suitably expensive Swindon billet crank :

along with a set of ultra-lightweight but strong Ti rods, ditto lightweight pistons and most likely a set of Swindon's billet crankcases, or maybe the Noonan items :

https://noonanrace.com/collections/all-products/pr...

That 12,000 rpm 964/993 motor is going to cost the thick end of 100k once assembled in a car along with the requisite induction and exhaust systems, and the necessary cooling, then there's the many hours of mapping to make it driveable.

Mouse going to be painted on the rev counter, because when I first saw the shell out of the barn a mouse peeked through the dash smile

The door cards have arrived, trimmer of course needs to fit them. Two vertical lines for the number 11. Mix of colours and textures. The doortops are carbon.

Test fitting rear panels:

I had a very brief glance towards your new car on a visit recently, the colour is absolutely stunning. I’m very glad I do t have the financial means for one as I’d never settle on spec !

A real credit to you and Tuthill, Hope you enjoy.

Great thread and a fantastic project.

Looking forward the updates and seeing the finished car.

Shame it will be ready just in time for winter. Seems to be a few PH'ers collecting fantastic cars at the wrong time of year. Andy74b just collected his Zonda 760 and Woppum soon to take delivery of his GMA T50. Nevermind. I'd happily sit in the garage with a glass of wine and just look at them until Spring.

Being very familiar with the pace of special Porsche projects especially when it comes to actually finishing (nothing to do with this car or supplier specifically), I doubt that will be a problem biggrin Bring on the Spring!

I’m looking at the weather forecast every few days but I think you may be right in which case I will have to take the car somewhere warm for a few days. Cannot wait to spring!
