Plenty of help available both here and on club scuderia, just ask.
As mike says be wary of ball joints, £250 a corner just in parts, belt service not as bad as the 355 as you don't need to remove the engine, however you will almost definitely need to replace the tensioner bearings at £140 from memory and there are 2 of them unless replaced with hills at last belt service.
Don't think like I did that your life savings of £40k, which is a hell of a lot of money in anyone's book lets be honest will mean everything you look at will be perfect, I looked at some real crap among the 10 I looked at searching for mine so be aware.
If your looking for a spider then buy now don't wait until March April time as prices will rise a bit.
Talk to Roger at the Ferrari Center, Mike at Rardley, and Tim at walkersport, all very nice guys that can help you in your search, a private car isn't necessarily the cheapest / best way forward.
It was very frustrating and at times a real waste of time and money each weekend but worth it in the end.
Enjoy your search if you can ....
Thanks for this, my thought was to try and buy before the end of March and already spied the TDF spider at Walkersport so will make the trip up next week but was unaware of Rardley and the Ferrati Center so cheers for the contacts. As mike says be wary of ball joints, £250 a corner just in parts, belt service not as bad as the 355 as you don't need to remove the engine, however you will almost definitely need to replace the tensioner bearings at £140 from memory and there are 2 of them unless replaced with hills at last belt service.

the carbon seat option seems to be a rarity but look to sit youa little lower in the car - any comments on this option?

It's a very sought after option and you do sit slightly lower and better supported. Beware they come in 3 sizes S,M,L and the smalls are too small for me. I have the standard electric seats in mine and they are very comfortable.Tim has 4 very nice 360's in ATM and one has carbon seats so if you go and see the cars you can try them out......First nice weekend in March is when the sales kick-off! Book early to avoid disappointment ....
Here's mine:
Bought in December 2013 as something of a project (there's a couple of threads on here somewhere) I've actually been able to use her for around 7 months so far (combination of works being undertaken and me being out of the country) In that time I have added 7,100KM and taken the total mileage of the car to 16,500KM
I've done a few little modifications (Tubi, new head unit, HF kit for the phone, Battery Conditioner) and there are a few more to do (looking into adding cruise control, one shot window for PAX side)
Most of all though I'm loving the fact that I own my own Ferrari... no loans, PCP or otherwise, she's completely mine.
