Mate I really can't see where you are going with this. You claim to be trying to determine the cost whilst claiming you know the answer. And rubbishing anyone who says the cost is 30k per year or less. Are you trying to prove to yourself you can't afford one ?
And the guy who sold me mine lost about £30k per year, if he paid list which I doubt.
No. I'm trying to get a realistic answer...which it seems I have just had...£10k per year. Brilliant....I'll have 7. And the guy who sold me mine lost about £30k per year, if he paid list which I doubt.
What an utter waste of time that was.

Why don't you place an advert on here saying you will best any dealer bid by £10k for your spec car? By your reckoning you will get one £50-70k under asking price in the trade. What an utter waste of time that was.
The sure fire way of losing big money from new is to go mad with the options - i.e. triple layer paint £16K, full carbon engine bay £15K
When I was searching these became "so what" options worth bugger all - maybe nice to have but not essential.
IMHO from what I've been told and experienced personally, buy a new Spider (or nearly new) and budget on £20k first year, levelling to £15-12 a year thereafter

which is not too bad.....I always factor in @ 1k per month....and after a while it levels offWhen I was searching these became "so what" options worth bugger all - maybe nice to have but not essential.

but that's not to say dealer margins are not large, but having @150k plus tied up is not the same as a BMW....big risk = larger profit
I would rather buy privately

Any reason Apolo's post, where he was detailing 2 Spiders he knew of losing £90 k plus in under 12 months, was deleted ?.
Possibly because it was Bo**ox...?sone said:
bks, surely not! it was probably around the time he was telling us all how fantastic the new GT3 was going to be, oh hang on you might be right(-:
go an have a drive in one.....when fixed and come back to the table...who was it that attached the inner wheel arch with C4.....lolWhen I bought my 12C coupe in January I was offered a 458 Spider in the £150ks vat inclusive, so yes they do exist. Spec wasn't bad at all either, and likewise a 12C Spider at the same money basically new.
So it's true I'm afraid, although I'm happy to believe prices firm up slightly now we're heading towards summer.

Really ?. See Mr Shmee
Vat inclusive, So I assume a new car? With delivery miles on it only? That would be cheap for a new car possibly very cheap
I would expect to see spiders down around the 160's for the early cars now which are 2 years old.
Dealer offers can not be used as a comparison I've been abused by dealer on every marque why should Ferrari be different?

But my whole point is, they aren't....publicly anyhow. And we still have the 'b******s' bunch stating the loss will on be £10-£30k a year Vat inclusive, So I assume a new car? With delivery miles on it only? That would be cheap for a new car possibly very cheap

Ferrari MUST be supporting the Dealers, as the RRP's do not reflect the massive hits taken buy the previous owner.
Can't think of any other way, or we'd be seeing the Mclaren scenario.
At least with Mclaren, you know what you're going to lose, as the sales price reflects the hit.
So, what should I be paying for a factory ordered 458 spider that lists specced up at 240k? Are there discounts to be had?
I ask, as I am about two weeks off buying one. They've offered me one that's about the same spec that's already arriving in 2 weeks too, although for some reason I'm leaning towards factory ordering it, but I haven't got into price negotiation as I prefer to do that when my money lands and I can actually buy it.
I don't care about residuals as it'll be a keeper. I'm paying cash.
Err, hope it's ok to ask that here?

My only advice is only listen to others on here that have bought or about to buy not the dreamers!

Tim do you feel that the 650s will follow the 12c, price wise? in my view it will track it to the penny on the day. I well recall 12csps selling for 40k off list with only a few hundred miles on them. On any reading I just can not see how the 650 will not follow this.So it's true I'm afraid, although I'm happy to believe prices firm up slightly now we're heading towards summer.
I agree that like others they should increase this time of year. But the market is so tiny for this type of car. 150 was vey cheap for a 458SP, Only a few 12c at this price, once they are gone this will have looked cheap imv...
IMHO

You mean the likes of Shmee or Apolo then ?
Hail, the world is flat.
if the chap is right above in so much as the 12cSP is or was 150k nearly new in Jan, then this would put the actual value of a used car with 6k miles at around 130ish.Taking into account that imv 12c-sps were around 235-240k with a reasonable spec, some are higher. this puts the loss at 100k plus.Hail, the world is flat.
I see no reason as to why the 650 will not follow this trend. Only now imv the market place is much smaller.
IMHO

I can't take a lot of stock in the " I was offered a car at two bob or I know a bloke who got tweleve quid when he traded in his two week old spider with 150 miles on the clock.
I remember being advised on here on what I should be looking for when buying a GT3 sometime ago and what deal I could expect to get. It turned out my advisors experience of purchasing super cars was his latest purchase a VW Polo. That's what I mean by dreamers. By the way nothing wrong with VW's.
My World is one of realism. Watch you don't fall off your's.
