OP, had you considered a Gallardo Spider out of interest?
My first thought when I read the thread. Was in a similar position last year, discounted the V8V early on after driving a F430. Then started to look at the G.

Have considered a Lamborghini, but think the looks are just a little extreme and apparently the drive is a bit too sanitised being Audi 4wd, most importantly swmbo hates them!,,:-)

Hi Greg,
You are going through the same decision process I did three years ago.
My initial preference was Gallardo, then V8V then 430
Gallardo - I didn't like the offset footwell, no luggage space, and it left me feeling a bit flat
V8V - didn't deliver the performance I wanted (damn that Chim for spoiling me)
430 - really surprised me in every way .

You know the choice I made, and have absolutely no regrets. I have now covered 16k miles in my F430 spider, and simply love it. Annual trips to Le Mans, road trip to Monza for the GP, Paris tunnel runs, holiday trips in to France and quite a few track days (this does highlight some brake fade, but I'll be checking out some new pads this year).

The offer still stands, but you'll need to wait until June as I have an imminent house move and wedding biggrin

Hi D
Hope the wedding and move run smoothly. Thanks again for the offer...I have decided on the 430, it's just a question of 'do I do it straight away'? Or wait until after hols end of May, early June. I would also like to sanitise the garage first, then there's the garden decking project...Maybe waiting until the autumn price reductions.

Yeaaahhhh!!!

Good decision, don't put it off, start looking for the right car for you.

i'm not really aware of seasonal price fluctuations, so i wouldn't wait if i were you, just buy the best one you can when it comes up.

Be interested to hear what colour/spec etc you go for.

I love mine Nero/Sabbia…mmmmm!!

And how do those rank against your latest purchase?
I already knew what I wanted wink

Being a member of Ecurie25 helped as I'd already driven several examples of each car.

But, the question was about F430 and V8V. F430 is a good choice out of the two.

Cheers Greg, it will all be over in a couple of weeks and i'll be a married man in a new home smile

You have made a good choice, that's the hard bit over. Now the fun bit starts - finding the right car for you.
I can't speak highly enough about Carrs in Exeter, where i bought mine on teh recommendation of another PHer who has bought (and continues to buy) more Ferraris than you can shake a stick at. His current fleet includes:

Ferrari 246 Dino GTS

Ferrari 458 Speciale

Ferrari F12

Ferrari 458 Spider

Ferrari 458 Challenge

Ferrari 275 GTB/4

Ferrari 599 GTO

Most, I believe, from Carrs!
