As above, you will not find anyone more helpful than Tim in the trade.

Cheers,
Bryn.

I have spoke to tim, and he has gone beyond what he needed to tell me.... considering i was buying from else where.

He gave me a comprehensive list of questions to ask the dealer and what to look out for on the car.

Once Im happy with the checklist i will sign the paperwork and hopefully take the car home.

I literally cant wait. picking an old girlfriend up in it in a couple of weeks which she knows nothing about. might even help me close the deal again. haha

Hopefully a happy ending and trouble free motoring.

Post up some pics, and a couple of the old Ferrari as well :-)

Grant,

Really hope you dont get stung mate! I too am in the market for my first Ferrari and looked at this car. As someone has already indicated the service stamps didnt add up to me and to me if you are selling a car like this the advert, pictures, detail I would expect to be first class.

I too have heard alot about Tim and tbh I see he now has a couple of 360s up for grabs, just sadly neither in the Rosso/Crema/F1 combination I am after or I would have been straight to this guy to buy one, have read nothing but praises for him on here which says alot to carry that sort of reputation.

Hope it works out to be a good car Grant, will be a steal as you say if it is compared to others on the market. The 360 values appear to be going in the right direction for owners and the good ones are being snapped up in a matter of days, as are the F430s which I have also been looking at albeit just the Coupe.

Cheers

To be fair most of the independants with the exception of VERDI have a good reputation on here and Club Scuderia, Tim, Roger at TFC, Mike at Rardley, and Foskers have all been very helpfull.
Give them a call as they may know of cars that are potentially coming in or indeed be able to source you a car.
Good luck.

i get the decision on the finance tuesday. Im not even borrowing alot but they are being a bit funny due to the age of the car. even though im putting 40% down......

once the finance is accepted Im running through the checks on the car from the list tim gave me.

it is a lowish mileage car. drove well. dealer is fixing something on the steering and it needs the tracking doing again. he brought this to my attention. i didnt ask.

all being well. pick it up in a week or so.

I would try a specialist lender, i would assume the garage would have one in house

I think a car that is 10 years old is the general rule for the main finance companies.

Try Supercar Finance, I've used them for a few cars and have also asked for some guide quotes on a 360 last year. They didn't highlight a likely problem so they might be a more straightforward path. When I've used them, I've had a decision within 24 hours (usually much faster than that) and they dealt with the selling dealer directly. All I did is rock up with my deposit on deal day and jobs a good 'un.

There website also suggests they do classic car finance too, so you should be in good hands.

I've always dealt with Tony (tony@supercarfinance.co.uk I think). I don't work for them by the way, just a very satisfied customer.

Hope that helps. Look forward to hearing of your ownership experiences. smile

You should have the car inspected by someone who know's the tipo. Although you think that 28k is low mileage it isn't that low and the car could be needing a host of maintenance - my last 360 needed a suspension refresh around this mileage.

Have you got an SD2 readout? Clutch wear is important but needs to be read in conjunction with PIS and clutch overheat time. Clutches can start to slip at 65% wear so 50% isn't that good to be honest.

£3-400 spent now could save you thousands in the future.

Sorry, have come to this a little late. Firstly, another massive vote for Tim at Walkersport. I initially called him about a car I was looking at elsewhere and he spent ages with me about questions to ask and things to look out for. It turned out that provenance, history and condition were more important than colour so I ended up buying from Tim. An absolute pleasure to deal with and his aftersales has been more than I could have ever expected. Owning a Ferrari is a wonderful thing but it can make you paranoid...

If having difficulties on finance, try Andy Wise at Fast Car Finance. Really decent guy and got some very decent rates.

Good luck - and enjoy!

I echo this - Tim has been truly remarkable in his telephone advice - I spent 3 long months looking for the right car and would not have hesitated to buy from Tim if only he had what I wanted in stock.... A truly helpful, knowledgeable and generally nice Ferrari nut!!! And even when I was looking at other dealers cars he was more than helpful and it was almost like buying a car with him alongside keeping my feet on the ground!! Lol thanks again Tim!!!!!!

I echo the recommendations above. I didn't buy from Tim but our car was very well known to him and he's been invaluable to us for info, advice and reassurance, both before and after our purchase.
