To my knowledge, out of the 499 Units of Speciale Apertas, the UK has only been allocated 17 RHD cars. With priority on those orders for LaFerrari owners. So premiums are likely to be extortionate on RHD if one actually comes up for sale. LHD will still be extortionate but not so much as RHD cars, so good luck acquiring one - as I cannot see you being successful!
Looks like the UK did rather better than 17 - there were 65 Speciale Aperta's registered in the UK last year!

Yes, but that will include the imported LHD cars as well, so probably only 17 RHD cars.

I assume you are not serious that there are 3 LHD's for every 1 RHD?
Looking at another thread it appears there were 24 known and recorded RHD cars up to September - this was 24 known RHD out of the total of 27 cars at the time.

OK - fair point; how many Ferrari official dealers are there? I think about 9 or 10, my local FOC were allocated 3 cars, so perhaps between 27 & 30 may be more realistic figure. What I do know is that the majority I've seen up for sale on PH's and the like have been left hookers, and at least 3 people I know, all 'big hitters' who wanted cars couldn't get an allocation.

I thought I'd reply to this as I have some knowledge on the Aperta's

I have data on 55 UK Aperta's

53 are RHD
2 are LHD

Wow - I'm amazed! Good to know as I'd been told that the UK wouldn't have got that many. I was offered one with delivery mileage at £525K! I'm sure there's a moral somewhere in this!!

If that was RHD, that was a bargain for the prices the LHD cars are advertised for..!

I was told this morning by a very reliable contact at a Ferrari dealer a UK 458 SA with 150 miles on the clock has just been bought for 718,000 GBP. It wasn't sold by them.

I didn't ask him, didn't seem appropriate. But he seemed sure of his facts.

Wow. That's impressive. Still. Not many people want to part with them.

yeah seems like an odd figure! what increments were they going up with there offer in? '700k? NO! 718k? YES SOLD!'

I'd regret putting any miles on one if I was an owner, insane profit.

Feel for the owners of Speciale/SAs (relatively speaking of course). If you bought one purely to own and enjoy it - before the prices went stratospheric - it must surely loom large over their thought process every time they get in now to think that every journey is potentially eating into the considerable profit.

Bit of a shame really for those out there that genuinely just want to enjoy these cars, and for those of us hoping to see them being enjoyed.

If I were an Aperta owner (I wish!) I like to think I'd be inclined to look at it in a more liberating way. With this kind of escalation in values, surely that releases owners from the mental shackles of even worrying about mileage. An Aperta with 20,000 miles on the clock is going to go for massively over list price? Think of all the fun to be had in those 20,000 miles and there's still a profit at the end of it...albeit a smaller one. Maybe it's just me! smile

That plate was on a Ferrari 250 (?), in a dark colour, I have seen it; I'm not massively up on my older Ferrari's.
