458 speciale aperta

If I were an Aperta owner (I wish!) I like to think I'd be inclined to look at it in a more liberating way. With this kind of escalation in values, surely that releases owners from the mental shackles of even worrying about mileage. An Aperta with 20,000 miles on the clock is going to go for massively over list price? Think of all the fun to be had in those 20,000 miles and there's still a profit at the end of it...albeit a smaller one. Maybe it's just me!
you could look at it like that but the difference between 10,000 miles and 150 is around £250kso when you're traveling at 100mph you're effectively throwing £2,500 per/hour out of the window!
that 3,000 mile road trip in europe? £75k out of your wallet in depreciation
the whole collectors thing makes them un-drivable imo unless you are the kind of person who can ignore this or take your (much more positive) attitude

Those numbers certainly are an eye-opener! I guess there's a world of difference between hypothesising (which is all I can do on this topic) and actually owning & driving a car with that kind of value. Hopefully one day I'll be in a position to find out.....ideally in an F12tdf. Nice to have a dream! so when you're traveling at 100mph you're effectively throwing £2,500 per/hour out of the window!

Visited a dealership today who were 'holding' a clients 458 speciale aperta (bianco fuji with nero stripes) and the owner has never driven it and has no intention of driving it either .... sounds so sad to me that such a special car will not be driven purely because the car market has lost its marbles and values have just rocketed...
Realistically where does a Aperta in RHD form likely to fetch? £600k?
Of those Aperta owners on here, do you actually take them out much or (presumably) do you have other toys to offset mileage with?

Yes. And this goes for other owners I know. In my case I prefer coupes so for now the SA is tucked away. Before anyone tells me that sucks I was hardly going to decline the UK slot. When we finally end up with some hot summer weather she's a phone call away . Camlet said:
