Nice article, but a bit exaggerated;

just buy an example that had the valve guides done, good and lasting headers can be bought for less (ofcourse don't replace them with the originals), and owners with a F1; the (upgraded) F1 pump of a 360 Modena is better, far cheaper and fits with just a slight modification (brackets are available), so does Alfa's Selespeed unit.

Anybody get the impression that the writer of this article used to own a F355 and sold it for a 360 just before 355's shot up in value? And that he's now really bitter because he realised too late that the 360 just isn't as nice as a 355?

He's really over egged the costs, even when taking into account the fact he's talking dollars instead of pounds. What a fool!

US maintenance costs on Ferrari are way way more expensive than in the UK. Independents really milk the market over there. The same work on a Corvette is minuscule in comparison, even taking parts costs into account.

It's a good read, made me smile but the facts are a little exaggerated as others state, would agree that maybe he did sell his F355 at the wrong time for a 360 although we may never find that out for sure!!

Pretty sure this has been discussed before on here and the round number is £5k PA. If there is anything left put it away for paint / bodywork / brakes / clutch at some point.

The headers and valve guides will have been sorted on 95% of cars in the UK by now. IME of looking for one is the sticky interior that generally needs sorting but again that can be sorted for reasonable money.

The real sting will be in 30 years when parts are a lot harder to find. If I was an owner now with a keeper I think I might be stocking up on a few good bits just in case certain companies were not around in 20-30 years.

As with any car in this section, buy a wrong 'un and it will cost you dearly. But buy a well maintained PaJ you'll have no regrets. All cars have well documented history and if it doesn't - then run away!
