how come owners of depreciating cars like the 458 and 650S are getting so upset about the value of the cars that are now appreciating? wink

Who is getting upset good luck to them I say. Just prefer to drive and enjoy my toys rather than look at them appreciating or not in the garage.
All I would say as a word of caution to any potential buyer is these prices seem unrealistic and over inflated even in todays crazy market place so buyer beware of a correction if not big bubble burst.
I've owned both F430 spider and a Scuderia and thoroughly enjoyed both at a sensible cost but IMHO they do not compete on the same level as the newer and faster 458/650s.

I have a used old school hot hatch for my more analogue, raw, manual thrills but for my supercar I want something that makes peoples jaws drop and the McLaren certainly does that in abundance and with a class and exclusivity not matched even by Ferrari or Lamborghini

I had originally set my heart on a manual F430... But perhaps I have missed that boat.

I can't bring myself to spend near 100k on an F1 F430 (considering the inflated?? market) and wonder if its worth waiting a bit for 458 prices to drop?

I know you can buy stuff, but not time etc, I'm still fairly young in the scheme of things, so not rushing for a mid life crisis or anything like that.

After having a 360 manual spider, then driving a F430 spider F1, it didnt really tickle me, but i had a 458 spider for the day and covered 667km in the UAE, and got to get a feel for it on the Jebel Hafeet Mountain, and i have to say, its a spectacular car!! I thought i didnt like the F1 shifting nonsense, but in the 458 i thought it was sublime. I will right a report and plenty of pictures, and go pro footage of the mountain run at a later date. It did have a few downsides too, so a balanced review. smile

I remember your post before doing it, this review and photos should be good! Can you include approx costs of the car for those of us interested in doing something similar?
