Had a black F430 Spider before and thought the car was decent enough but absolutely hated all the attention when driving around. Love the 458s and want to get one, but are there any colours that fly under the radar a bit? I know it's never going to blend in like an AMG can, but anyone found some good colours that don't get quite as many looks as red yellow etc?
I was looking at the Blue Mirabeau 458 Spider at Maranellos recently - that's pretty discrete - but at the end of the day; it's still a Ferrari and will turn heads!

I must admit that I'm in the camp that says, why buy a Ferrari or Lambo and then worry about the colour? You are already making a statement by buying the thing and its going to get noticed one way or another, so get the colour you like, not the colour you think other people will notice less or think you less of a tt in.

Go red/yellow or go home I say.

Apart from yellow remaining factory colours receive similar attention....suggesting its not the colour but the car. The 'subdued' Grigio Tit I ran a couple of years back was quite a magnet unfortunately

Great car - and slightly under the radar colour in Grigio Tit - I also used to own that particular car!

Coming from a 20 year old with no concept of supercar ownership, get whatever color you want, if anything I pay less attention to the red ones as there are so many of them about, would much rather see one thats in a more understated color, being said, at the end of the day your driving a ferrari and people are going to see it regardless. The 2 black 458s local to me get as much attention as the bright red 488 thats been around the same area of town. In my mind its more the shape and sound than the color of a car

This ^

Quite easy to draw attention to yourself by making a lot of noise, holding low gears, etc. I like the fact that you can quite easily just breeze around with the flaps closed and no one even notices until you've gone past them.

As we are talking noise - I had this installed today and it's bloody fantastic! You have three options - stock exhaust, exhaust valves always open and exhaust valves always closed!

Best mod ever - the car sounds fantastic with the valves open!

Not sure if a Ferrari will ever not stand out (unless its a 4 seater model)

I saw a Grigio Silverstone 458 - looked lovely , not in your face (red or yellow) or mean attitude black

This would be my 458 of choice too, albeit, in practise I would be boring and get the McLaren.

Yes, the noise probably draws more attention than the colour. I found a sensible right foot strongly advised in town when wanting to stay a bit more discreet - and of course when outside neighbours houses when wanting to stay on good terms with them!!

I think I'll stick to black again as I think you are right, any colour is still going to stand out a lot, so may as well just get my favourite - though that grey I would certainly consider if my local Ferrari dealership had one in stock.

Mine is red. I wanted yellow. It is a happiness vortex that causes MPV's full of children to evacuate and take photos.

Just drive it. I mean really drive it. And you won't care. It could be Bluebottle guts greeny yellow and you still won't care.

I love Rosso Scuderia for a bit of a difference to the normal Corsa, it goes great with the nero leather on my 599. I think Grigio silverstone looks fantastic on the 458, and is a little more understated than the brighter colours.
As mentioned before, at the end of the day it will be noticed no matter what the colour is, it wouldn't be a Ferrari otherwise...

I can't work out if this colour is discrete or not. Or even nice or not.

Black is a bloody nightmare to maintain I think.
Grigio Silverstone/Titano or Tour De France blue are nice on a 458.

I really think if you've worked hard enough to afford a ferrari you should buy it in whatever colour you want and Fu*k what anyone else thinks. Lifes too short. Buy whichever you really want.

For Me Grigio with Crema or Cuoio hide with race seats is how id go.

Good point and well put! That's why I always go for the red, it's the colour I like and who cares what people think.
