Ferrari 360 Service routine question

Hi

Quick question are Ferrari 360 services supposed to be carried out yearly or mileage based? Lots of cars because they have low miles seem to miss years and skip to 2 years for servicing? Is this normal and does it impact on resale value? I only ask as I am looking now and disappointed to see cars at 80k and above with gaps in service history.

Supposedly annual - many especially in Europe skip it - if you've asked the question so will the next buyer but it is less important more than a few years ago ie if recent servicing is annual

I guess I ask as my company Mondeo which is worth nothing gets serviced every year, someones expensive pride and joy every 2 years?? I can see the point when you have only done a few thousand miles, but I thought these cars were all about verifiable history and condition and mileage? and only if all three stack up should you proceed? I am reluctant to shell out for anything that has less than perfect history, is this unrealistic? or just a case of waiting to find the right car.

You are correct in what you say, should be done yearly, it only becomes a problem when you want to sell and people like yourself question the history.
if its a nice car then use it as a bargaining tool on price.

When I bought a car I looked for main mileage servicing as well as recent history - some gaps could be due to a car being in storage so i would buy based on this again

But surely being in storage (which I assume means a garage)does not mean it is exempt from annual service needs? I have a few sports bike that do a few 100 miles a years but still service them yearly, is it not the same here? Maybe I am being a bit fussy, but I am looking at parting with 80k and want things right

If a car had done 10,000 miles and not been serviced for a couple of years I would question it. If a car has done a few hundred miles between services two years apart it would not bother me in the slightest.

So long as it has a good service history which shows things have been fixed when necessary and the condition of the car is good I can't see any reason to be worried.

Remember cars like a 360 are often owned by people with multiple cars so they may spend times in storage (either at a garage facility or on the owners own property) and\or go through periods of very limited use just to keep them exercised. Then if they are like me the car will be fully serviced and checked over before being used for an adventure/journey of some sort.

It is important I believe that a 360 is kept on a battery conditioner as I understand this guards against ECU problems, at least that is what I was told.

You are right to want things correct but think you will find for varying reasons they are more difficult to find the older they get, we all want a one owner full main dealer history car but not many exist.

As a slight side point there can be genuine reasons not to service a car, I bought a 360 in October time that needed discs, ball joints, cam belt service, wheel refurb, etc etc and I negotiated the price down without any work being done as I wanted to do everything bar service myself over winter, was absolutely no point spending £1500 on a service to sit in garage on axel stands until April at best.
But I had receipts to show all of this

These cars are not made of chocolate, and my biggest concern is always lack of use where pipes etc. get brittle. Services syncing with recommended mileage intervals is the target.
