Special edition limited to 50 units to celebrate 50 years of selling cars in Japan. Looks like it's based on a 488, but much prettier (subjective, I know).

Stunning imo,

Wheels look great, and they are back to 4 lights at the back. Some lovely styling cues

That is gorgeous. More pics and details at http://www.evo.co.uk/ferrari/488-spider/18595/ferr...

It is this sort of project that keeps the Ferrari brand up at the top and it's something that other manufacturers need to do if they are to create the same mystique. How cool to see this coming up behind you, poking it's nose out and then accelerating past. It's distinctly Ferrari but at the same time not something recognisable - as in not a standard model. We can differ on brand loyalties but there's no arguing that these boys know what they're doing.

A very true comment, it is this type of service that gets Ferrari staying on the top and the exclusivity is definitely underpinned by such projects. considering that the great majority of the parts would be from the standard 488 you can see that they can achieve this limited run with considerable ease. it is something that other brands should be doing: especially Porsche.

I may be missing something obvious but why is it LHD? Japan drives on the right so surely a tribute to them being sold in Japan should be RHD?

Good point, it's a render rather than a physical car, the interior shots for sure.

The Japanese market takes LHD Ferraris (and other high end brands). It is a cachet thing.

Didn't like the Sergio at all but I love the J50.Hopefully some styling themes will be carried over to 488 successor.
