The equivalent to 1952 mm shown above is 2261 mm (!) in the 488gtb manual 5010/15 1st edition
Agreed, 1952 excluding mirrors, 2261 including mirrors when out. The third measurement of width with mirrors in is the important one for those with single garage doors of circa 2100.

Why not just ask your dealer to bring over a demo car and see if you are happy getting it in and out?

I went through a similiar situation when I bought my 458, single door entrance to the garage and when I measured up it was way too tight to even consider trying to get in. I had the door opening modified, I think we took out 1 .5 bricks and had a Hormann made to measure electric door fitted.
As a rough guide the 458 is 2110mm with the mirrors folded in, the original door was approx 2170mm and now with the wider door the opening is 2560mm.
I don't think you will get a 488 in a single door without scraping it at some point in time!

I had the same problem with my 458 as BarryP, though with a bit of painters masking tape on the mirrors and guidance from the neighbour managed to get it in and out a few times, surprising with no scraps. It was actually easier after the first time as once you know you have a few millimetres spare you can bring the drivers side mirror as close as you dare to the garage door frame knowing you have space on the other side. Though I was quick to order a electric Hormann roller door as well which gave an additional 100mm (approx 1500 GBP fitted), plus it's much more secure.

Unfortunately removing a brick isn't an option as the garage is rendered but I'll have a go see how easy it is and if not too bad only has to go in during winter, so not in and out every day.

Sorry to bring up this old thread but I wondered how you got on?

I have a 488 coming in a few weeks. I am having new roller garage doors fitted so the opening will be 2275. Will this be big enough with the mirrors folded in? its a double garage with 2 doors so once in it will be easy to get out.

Its currently only 2120 and I thought that was too tight so am about to order the new doors. As luck would have it one of my mates is a garage door fitter.

I had reason to measure my 488 Spider to see if it would fit in a trailer. The mirrors are the widest part and it measures:

2.10 with mirrors in

2.28 with mirrors out

Hope this helps.

My garage door openings are 2.220 wide and my 488 goes in only with the mirrors folded in.

Thanks for the replies guys, looks like with the new doors I will be all good.

I had a call today saying I could pick up my car as early as Friday, alas I am going to be in Uruguay working then so it going to have to wait until I get back frown I cannot tell you how excited I am.
