Thank you all for your comments, most of them were very helpful.

I have just put a deposit down on a 2008 Black/Cream F430 Spider with Carbon Ceramic Brakes, 3 owners and 13K on the clock. Hopefully cost of ownership wont be too bad IF I can resist the temptation to drive it constantly! My wife is looking forward to all the weekends away!

I did ask for various info before buying such as distance travelled in each gear, etc. to verify the mileage as best you can.
I have some screen shots of the Ferrari diagnostics tool (I think its called the SD3?)

distance travelled when added is 20,000 KM which I think is about right. Clutch wear is showing as 1.6% (clutch overheat is 3178 seconds) so guess it has a new clutch.

On Page 1/5 It shows values for % Abrasion Front Axles (32%) and % Abrasion Rear Axles (16%), any idea what that is?

Below that it has DISCS WEAR: REAR DISCS WEAR METER: (16%) and DISCS WEAR: CALCULATION FACTOR (256)

I guess 16% DISC wear on CCM rotors isn't too bad? should there also be a value for the FRONT WEAR?

It will have a main dealer full checkover and service before delivery but I am not actually buying it from a main dealer.

Any other advice or things to check greatly appreciated???
Congrats! Lovely combo for a spider, I'm sure you'll enjoy putting on MORE miles than planned!

Clutch must literally have just gone in! Not unusual to see ~3-4% when clutch is brand new and that number can change by 1-2% whenever the clutch position/Kiss point is relearned.

The % Abrasion Front/Rear Axles is the CCM wear, so 32% on the fronts.

Given the choice I prefer the car at Premier GT based on mileage and 2009 and Daytona seat inserts in black and originality albeit without the luggage pack but each to their own

Either way enjoy life to the full

Congratulations! Lovely spec

I bought my coupe in August last year with 14k on the clock. Now has 22.... Biggest issue is trying not to drive her!

Had two smallish issues in that time, inlet gasket was replaced (under warranty) and a clutch bearing. Other than that has been faultless. Although I think I might need ball joints soon.

Car gets better and better then more you drive it. So best advice is to do exactly that and enjoy!

Just like Jeremy Clarkson said I buy all the right cars just at the wrong time. My advice is BUY the car I SELL, its a guaranteed classic.

Was happy with the F430 and price I received at the time and have no beef with any of my past cars, far from it.
Would I pay £85k for a F430 spider in todays market - categorically NO. Been there done that and don't value you it at that price let alone £120k. The car hasn't changed since I sold it but the markets perception may have
do you still have the kia magentis ?

The Premier GT car was sold, I did phone them.

I'm a bit confused, is there a Ferrari Diagnostics expert out there?

I thought the % ABRASION FRON AXELS figure was 32.4333333 but looking more closely I cant see a decimal point and it doesn't say % in the third column???

I thought typically the wear tends to be higher on the rear than the front because the stability management uses the rear brakes to stop the back from stepping out.

Is 16% rear wear OK for a car that has done 13K? At what mileage or % wear do the rotors and pads typically need replacing? I've never had Carbon Ceramic before so all new to me.

Hi, Congrats on buying the F430 - trust you're enjoying it... how has the ownership experience been so far?
I'm also in a similar position considering switching from a California to a F430 Spider with under 20k on the clock... Would you mind letting me know (on here or PM) what you managed to buy one for - just to give me a guide? Many thanks
