I had exactly the same thoughts when buying my first Ferrari. I.e. I'm going to use it multiple times a week and 'live the life'.... what's the point of buying it and leaving it sat in the garage, etc? The reality has been somewhat different....
In all honesty I think all modern Ferrari's 'could' be used as a regular commuting vehicle, but I struggle to see why anyone would want to? In the north-east of England the commute to work on heaving roads is no fun and best tackled in 'other' vehicle types. Longer motorway trips the same, cars noisy, crappy nav, hard to hear phone connection. Inclement weather, spray, ice? Give me a nice high seated 4 wheel drive, massage chairs, a nice hi-if and arrive more chilled and relaxed. I think using a 488 for all of the above will remove the 'specialness' of the ownership experience. I would also be horrified at the thought of leaving it sat in a tight public car park for any period of time, for obvious reasons.
None of the above factors in the cost per mile.
My two pals who also own Ferrari's are a lot wealthy than me, to the point where depreciation is really not a consideration. They own 2-4 other cars which they use depending on what best fits for the circumstances. None of us have racked up more than 2,000 miles on our 458/488's this year. I think this is also down to work commitments. I.e. We are too busy, too often to have time to enjoy the car, rather than we want to wrap it up in cotton wool. It's also not appropriate to use a supercar to various customer/client meetings due to the image that may be portrayed.
For me the balance of specialness and excitement is met using the car regularly on holidays and weekends. I think it would start getting on my wick if I 'had' to use it all year round, 10k p.a.

Waow really impressed by how so many people are against Ferraris being driven 10,000miles per year the first couple years - that image is sticking! Question to those who are against 10,000miles a year: do you actually own a recent Ferrari? or any even?
Why would you want the theatre of it all to be rendered mundane by commuting, etc?

I only ever drove mine when it was sunny with zero chance of rain, which in this country meant it was a relatively rare event. I did drive to work in it on occasion, leaving it parked all day, but because I'd only be doing it maybe once a week, perhaps not for several weeks, every drive was theatrical. I can't imagine anything worse than driving it every day, doing mundane or routine journeys in it, stressing over parking it in multistoreys etc.

Having said that - it will do daily driving with no issues whatsoever, modern Ferraris don't have any quirks that you need to be aware of.

My guess is that the answer to the OP comes down to financial circumstances as much as anything. We have a member of our local FOC who is "doing all right" thank you. He has several Ferraris and uses his 488 in the same way you or I might use a Focus. The wheels are kerbed. It goes though car washed. The odd dint in the doors from parking wherever he goes etc. Doesnt matter to him what this use costs - there always is more money where that came from. If he gets bored with it, he uses the AMG instead.

So Mr OP - which are you. The high income Harry Enfield " loads a money" man or is this your only Fezza, bought on the never never, and loss of capital matters

If your're bothered about the mileage affecting the value just do a Ferris Bueller. Ferrari will even sell you a tool to do it apparently.
