Up at £119k seems a decent price but I think has been around a while. Not being fully up to speed with these, Is it missing anything in particular I should be aware of ?

I'm told by my dealership that they have been told by customers that it is a dog. Of course they would say that and I personally have no idea who is right. It is all hearsay. But, you get what you pay for. That is a very low price and it does look good. One wonders what they have had it for a while.

Its not the best spec 458 and missing some important options..The wheels are the standard cast ones which are a disaster from a resale POV plus not having the Carbon racing seats. All 458s fitted with both those options sell much easier than without.

Seats and wheels available second hand for circa 10k. Assuming that the car is OK then you can easily add later.

If it wasn't a Ferrari main dealer I would totally agree, but if I was to get a 2 year warranty thrown into the deal then jobs a good 'uN no ? Or is Ferrari warranty not as good as Porsche?

Here's the sales history on it:
For sale at Lancaster's since early June, initially at £129,830. Mid-July reduced to £127,830. Mid-August reduced to £124,830. Mid-September reduced to £119,830.

Four owners and Lancaster's sold it to the latest owner in 2016 (listed at £149,830, 10,891 miles, May 2016).

Sold by Graypaul Birmingham to the third owner in 2014 (listed at £149,850, 9,122 miles, September to December 2014).

Sold by Maranello's to the second owner in October 2013 (listed at £153,850, 6,843 miles).

I haven't seen the car personally since 2013 but it has always been sold by main dealers and it looks like Lancaster's have maintained it recently too, so I would be surprised if it really was a total dog because main dealers tend to pass on anything too ropey.

If the car has a good history and prepped by a main Ferrari dealer then its a genuine bargain..My 458 is also in Grigio Silverstone and is a very strong Ferrari resale colour..

True! Mine had the same seats (fully electric) and I loved them and thought they were great however the car took ages to sell and in the end after numerous SOR attempts I had to sell it to a dealer.

Good spec cars with less than 15k milage still is £155, see no real change in market. Private sales unfortunately are not colours I like. I feel £155 could leave me high and dry if the market corrects. Not wanting to make money but need to avoid haircut....

The markets already corrected, dealers just don’t want potential buyers of 458’s to know it. £155k car will be lucky to see £100k bid 2 years down the line. The lovely spec 14k rosso 458 I sold December last year I would now be bid £15k less (got £132k, would now see £117k). The £155k cars will have been bought in at £125-130k... don’t get sucked in to overpaying by dealers saying prices are steady would be my advice.

I just need to find the right car that is being traded and hopefully the owner puts it up for sale in a middle ground price. I am patient.

I agree, probably not retail, as the comment was referring to the potential buyer not wanting to take a hit on buying selling. But I cannot see why a nice 458 will not be retailing at £115-120k in 2 years, hence the bid/trade price. Many people are convinced that the ‘last of the n/a V8’s’ will sustain values but to be honest I think this is wishful thinking imo, particularly given how good the latest turbo Ferrari engines are
Also setting aside any preconceptions, i’d be surprised if many genuinely took back to back test drives of 458/488 and didn’t think the newer car was better in almost all areas. Personally, if spending in the £150’s I’d much rather be in a 2016 488 than a 2014 458.

In a few years time i'll wager that 458s will be worth more than 488s. Right through history the classic market favours some Ferraris over others..I believe 458s will fall in that category.

If i was looking for a 458 Italia today this is the one i'd be looking to buy..Despite avoiding red ones when i was looking for one last year i'd make an exception with Fueco.
This 458 has a fantastic spec and colour coupled with low miles.

Genuine question how does a similar mileage 16 plate 570S stack up against one of these for say £50k less ... performance is surely the same and the rigidity of McLaren tub a bonus fair enough the Ferrari will sound better , of course a Larini exhaust on the Mc would sort that ... these just seem v expensive versus what else you can get...not far off 720S money.

A nice 570S at say £90K is an absolute bargain IMO and a much better buy over a 458 in value terms..The big difference is that the 458 will one day go up in value.
