488 GTB Advice
Discussion
Jayemm, you are right mate, you are a person too and while I don't agree with some of what you have said in previous videos, (boring 911s) I get it. I do wonder how much you stir to pot just to get views/likes....
And to be fair reading my comments again, I think I nailed your response even without watching the video!

Hi Tom, congrats on the purchase! We have very similar situations and cars. Iv'e just come from a 991.2 GT3 4.0L
to a 488, same colour as yours, same carbon and seats (mine are alcantara). I also have a Turbo S on order but I'm longer away than you are (I was given 2 years to get mine, this was ordered at the start of this year). The 488 is a massive step up in acceleration than the GT3 also a lot more refined (bumpy road mode and a quiet engine at slow to moderate speeds) It is fussier than the porsche
and you will start to notice cheap and weird things (some hilarious) about the car you would never see on the porsche.
Will you keep both cars when the Turbo comes?
Thank you. That 4.0L engine is exceptional isn't it?to a 488, same colour as yours, same carbon and seats (mine are alcantara). No, I simply can't afford to keep a 488, (a new CT Taycan, it's late!) and a 992 Turbo S. Mrs Findtom would kill and divorce me. Maybe in that order.

Callipers look great - did they replace or repaint the existing?
Yes I wondered whether they are new callipers or repainted in which case they did a good job retaining the logo. The price of painted callipers on a new car is something like £1296, increased this year from about £900, definitely worth choosing. I’m yellow on my cars too.
"ST1040. I have also put the optional Diamond cut OEM wheels, carbon centre caps and titanium bolts on my 488 GTB. You are only the 2nd other car I have seen with them. They were a very expensive option but look great"
Dealer told me they are between £10,00-£12,000 wheel option when new (mines a 2016) which is why very few people have this option.

Looks stunning! Thanks for the info on the caliper painting, 1660 is pricey but certainly worth it as it transforms the car.
The yellow brake calipers are a must for me, even more so on a grigio/nero daytona car, I think the contrast looks so much better than the black/grey calipers which I am not a fan of unless the exterior colour is something very unusual where a dark caliper can work.

petjam Looks fantastic, well done! My wife refuses to drive mine, used to have an M2 (BMW) and as I phoned her up to jokingly
ask her if she had caught the wheels whilst taking it out of the garage that day, she had!!
My partner could not get fuel for her car last Friday night so had to take my 488 to work. As soon as I got home I was in an Uber straight to pick it up which amused her colleagues.ask her if she had caught the wheels whilst taking it out of the garage that day, she had!!
Stunning cars by the way, I made a big thing about getting a car with front lift and cameras and to be honest in hindsight could live without both.
Small World petJam, thats my old car....funnily enough that squeaking was somewhat annoying, but never thought it was anything serious
By the way you can thank me for installing the carbon Fibre door panels, cost me a bit as genuine ferrari one's but I thought it was needed to break up the interior a bit. External colour is rosso metallic , so yes has a bit more too it than flat rosso...cam with the full luggage set as well, hopefully u got that with it?
I sold it to Amari in Prestton...picture of it pre carbon door panels...
Enjoy..

Wow, small world indeed, so it had the squeaking back then!
The previous owner had it for a couple of years and never fixed it! No wonder he did no miles in it, was driving me crazy after 3 drives, it was louder than the engine up to about 40!
Turns out it was just front brake pads, all fine now.
