Yeah but it's old and slow therefore not worth having.
Apparently.
No one said that and each to their own.Apparently.
Different people want different things and there is no one size fits all.
As someone not invested in the game I fully expect owners to support their own choice but that doesn't necessarily make it the best thing since sliced bread.
458 is certainly a standout car for Ferrari but personally I prefer a F355 and thats even older and slower
Only just taken delivery of the 458 recently but there are elements of the 430 I miss for sure.
The manual nature of the F1 gearbox. The deep throaty exhaust note.
I hope pulling the wires for the valves will solve this but I find that when you take your foot off the throttle, the 458 is silent - even in race mode. There is no exhaust note on decelerating. Unlike the 430. I guess this is the valves closing?
The 430 felt like an unhinged untamed beast. The 458 has moved the game on in droves - I love the quick steering, the high pitched noise, the looks - but that's not to detract from the great car the 430 is.

Unplugging the valves on a 458 completely changes the game, a 458 is a pretty silent car even in race mode until you surpass 3000rpm or go full throttle, which means when your just driving around slowly it tends to be silent. The manual nature of the F1 gearbox. The deep throaty exhaust note.

Unplugging the valves means a 458 is always on song and barking, it will also pop and gurgle a lot more too, get those valves unplugged it is really easy to do, just remove the rear diffuser and look up and you will see the vacuum lines, pull them off and put something in the hoses ideally to prevent water ingress. You won't regret it and if the noise ever becomes too much, get a Forza valve controller or similar.

Is that your garage ? Do people have these cars without multiple garages ? I'm not sure I would be comfortable with my daily in a blow up bag, let alone an expensive supercar.
TBH I wouldnt want a supercar until its value was less than 10% max of my net worth
This coupled with your comments about ‘behind a Tesla’ makes you come across as a troll tbhTBH I wouldnt want a supercar until its value was less than 10% max of my net worth

Mine has the sports/race seats. I sat in one with the standard seats and felt less supported than my 330d ones. Perhaps they perform better on a drive, but I’m not sure how because there’s not much in terms of bolster support.
Unwrapped it at the weekend to check it was ok:

The ‘garage’ is actually the listed dovecote at my parents house. The car (incidentally with no finance) lives tucked up there whilst I’m in London with the family.
Most of all, cheers for the contribution…

Agreed. A lose pal had one for 15 months and it cost him £20k in 'routine' maintenance.
bks. There's nothing "routine" about a 20k bill on any ferrari.I owned an old 12cyl 512TR and even the big "engine out" belts service cost me less than £2K at a main dealer. So tales of £20k are quite frankly bullst.

Not difficult to rack up big bills, I had a quote from DL for bushes all round on my F430- £7.7k. Chuck my major service as well as replacement headers on and you’re knocking on the door of £20k.
"Routine"?They can be expensive. I think with the 458 as they get older it's electrical stuff that can be a killer. The chap with the glove box that wouldn't open and needed a new module at 7k? A guy had the phone module go that was 4k so 2k for a service is probably not realistic for annual costs.
Mine had very slight play in a bush on the rear susupenion they wanted £2500 to sort that. Would be a fith of that at an indie but it's fair to say the running costs are pretty fruity if you do get a problem.
