Colour aside, this is a very similar spec to my car, even down to having carbon seats added, so watching with interest, not that I’ll ever sell mine.

nice

Green is my absolute favourite colour for a F355. I remember seeing one parked up outside the Charlotte Street Hotel in London a few years ago and it blew me away. I have only ever seen one for sale. Stunning colour: Both verde silverstone and verde zeltweg.

Totally agree with the 'green is good' school of thought here and I do think it works particularly well with the 355, 456, 550 era. With tan leather. Sublime! Seem to recall from Top Gear all those years ago that Jeremy Clarkson visited the Maranello showroom absolutely determined to order a green 355...but he lost his nerve at the last minute, choosing red instead.

Don't forget Verde Mugello.

I believe only 11 F355s supplied new to the UK in (four different shades of) green. Three Berlinettas, three Spiders and five GTS'.

Sold for 97,500 plus fees. A lovely car, I hope the new owner enjoys it.

So, I don't know exactly what it would have sold for 2 years ago but the final asking price, from a well known dealer (KHPC), was £65k. So you would imagine it would be a bit less than that. Now it has sold as a private sale through an auction site - with no come back worth the name - for £103,350 including fees (please feel free to correct my maths!). That's about 40% more. Extraordinary!

It was more than I wanted to pay and at times thought I was going to get a bargain but it really got going in the last 20 minutes.

I know it’s inflated compared to what the seller paid but it’s in a dream spec for me and the time was right and I intend for this to be a keeper so was going to have it regardless. I feel a lot better about it now and intend to keep it for a long time. Plan on slowly refurbing everything and keeping it as mint as I can. No buyers remorse here.

Who knows what the markets will do but I’m not in it to speculate and do think over the long term it will be ok in terms of holding value.

Congrats on the purchase - wonderful colour combo IMO and anything with several years of KHP history should be decent.

These F355's are very special for those of my age group who remember them coming out in the mid 90's and being mesmerised by how stunning they are - the most beautiful modern (relatively) Ferrari in my humble opinion.

I'll be on my 3rd shortly as I keep on coming back for more! Has to be Berlinetta and manual and a bonus yours is the early non-airbag car.

Use it and enjoy it - that's my intention for the next one which I hope to get this side of the gritters!

Congrats, I can’t really think of anything else I’d rather have for around £100k - not trying to start a debate on that!

Special cars, and extra special with a spec like that.

Enjoy.

congrats - it is a lovely looking car

imo Ferrari has not built a pretty car (some striking ones though) since the 355 and 550 (possibly the Monza, but that is rather expensive). I still miss my 355 and looked at a yellow 355 Challenge for a long time at a dealership when I passed by earlier this month - looked so good. that was more than Euro 170k (and a worse color), so you got off cheap smile

hope you can get some driving done before winter arrives in earnest

Congratulations on your purchase and a welcome change to the almost default rosso/crema of the time.

My own car is one such which I bought in October 1995, pre air-bag, 2.7 and just a few tens away in VIN numbers from yours, now 30k miles. Sadly I crashed it quite badly a year or so later. It was well repaired and drives perfectly but there is that history and inevitably a few tell-tale cosmetic signs. I expect it’s pretty much unsaleable at a price which would interest me, so I just enjoy the car.

Over my long ownership, I’ve sorted some of the common issues myself including de-stickying the interior and replacing the rusting sill plates. There’s always a list of things to do and I’ve settled into a 2-year minor, 4-year major (incl belts) maintenance cycle. There’s no doubt at all in my mind the car benefits from regular use and besides, it’s such a joy to drive.

Enjoy your car!

that imo is the important part because it means the car was well cared for by the previous owner(s) and is less likely to cause trouble and big bills going forward.
