Maybe I should invest in winter tyres.
Can I ask a cheeky question - is that a Charles Church house b y any chance? Looks like one of our house types from before the Persimmon takeover
Well spotted. It is indeed a Charles Church house.

I built a few of that housetype, I always thought it was pretty good.

As for the Ferrari, that colour looks fantastic especially in the snow with sunlight on it

Thanks. The colour is Rosso Portofino but there wasn’t much sun when I took the picture on Monday - it looks even better when the sun is shining.

Beautiful! Lovely colour combo with the tan leather, which version of Rosso is that?

I'm not convinced it will be "one of the last V8's"scratchchin - I can see the V12 N/A's being replaced by Twin Turbo V8's one day.

Was great for a while but sadly beset with issues. Would get another, but with a manual. A Ferrari just makes you feel special smile

Out of interest what issues did you have?

Week one the engine ingested some material via the manifolds. Back to Ferrari for major work to resolve.

Then lambda issues twice stopped journeys. The second time they put some heat shielding on the wrong way round and that also led to a limp home moment a week or so later.

Then the Ferrari supplied and paid for battery tender gave up and ended up draining the battery and we couldn’t start the car. Battery was toasted. Not a warranty issue they said and promptly sent a pro forma for a new tender, battery and labour amounting to around £1200.

One nice summer evening the roof got stuck closing whilst parking to go out for dinner. Central London. Most embarrassing.

Still. I loved that car but what should have been a wonderfully joyous experience was not sadly. I realised I got a bit of a lemon (it was super low miles and I had similar issues on a super low mileage i8 too) but I do think the F430 is a magic car. And would heartily recommend one.

Arrived late November so only driven it a couple of times and now patiently waiting for spring. I have to say though, I knew the 355 was highly rated as one of the best sounding V8’s and watched many YouTube videos, but I still wasn’t prepared for how good it sounds cloud9

Still achingly pretty all these years later.
