Sorry to miss you Ratrod. It was a Lancia track day though they were open to other Italian stuff.
It was a good day out with plenty of time on track.
I did see that listed on the Goodwood track diary ,

Have been to a couple of the Lancla track days ,one was the morning of the unfortunate accident when a Spitfire crashed on the circuit killing

both the pilot and passenger and the day was cancelled before it got started,

Another one was when a group of Integrale's were on the track together and i must admit they looked like a accident waiting to happen,

eventually two or it could have been three had a coming together at the chicane, remember overhearing one of the marshalls saying i knew it was a mistake

letting that lot out on the track together ,

430 spider is a cracker but not a gt car.
The California with magnaride suspension and seats that don’t have an engine behind them is a very comfortable car for tall drivers.
I’d love a 430 spider but couldn’t do 5 hours on the motorway in one …
The space in the California was one of the reasons I went for it - I initially wanted a 360 spider but I have annoyingly long legs as well as being tall, so it just wasn’t comfortable for me and even with the seat back I was bashing my knee against the steering wheel. I still have the seat all the way back in the California but there is a lot more space around the wheel. The F430 was definitely roomier than the 360.

I was there the day of the Spitfire crash and not far away. I have been most years since 91. I had a Fulvia HF which was white since the early 90s and raced 2001 onward and other Fulvias before that (and just re entered the Fulvia fold)

Can't believe that was over 23 years ago , I believe the new owner was having tuition from a professional pilot who flew Spitfires regularly,

not sure who was flying it at the time. wasn't much press coverage ,Charlie March must have a hush line somewhere when things go wrong

at the circuit, there's been several deaths on track days with hardly a mention ,maybe a few lines in the local rag.

Yes you are right about the Spitfire.
It is a wonderful track and I've never hit anything (so far) but the run off is nothing like some of the other tracks these days.

Being my local track the GTB probably could find it's own way round Goodwood, main problem is getting through the db levels, probably like yours

the powers all at the top end so short shifting is no fun so i end up fitting the standard four branch back on so i don't get turned away.,

Yes your right about the run off area or lack of it,i've been off a few times but like you i've never hit anything, more luck than judgement .rolleyes

Mine at Goodwood at the weekend
Just been watching your GTB on "JayEmm on cars", looks a lot of fun for very little money,

After the comments about looking like a race car referring to the paintwork i'm beginning to wonder if

i've done the right thing having mine repainted,it took me some 27 years to amount the chips and the odd scrape here and there .

The paint man tells me it will be ready at the end of the mouth just in time for the winter.rolleyes

Thanks Ratrod and glad you enjoyed the video. He liked driving the car!
Hope the repaint goes well

It's taken a long time but have now finally finished getting the interior of my 348 just how I want it (almost anyway LOL)

Totally recarpeted, seats repaired and reconnalised, all sticky plastics recoated and seat belts rewebbed. I hardly dare drive it now!

Looks good. Would be interested to learn who did the seats. If possible a link to their website.

I did the seats myself but used dye from here: https://www.buffaloleather.co.uk

I had a broken mechanism on my driver's seat so I purchased a 2nd hand pair of seats from ebay then transferred the seat back from the ebay seat over to my original seat. As you can see the bolsters had cracks in them etc

The first step was using some wet and dry plus some acetone and a magic sponge to wear away the outer coating of the bolster so the cracks are not so prominant,

Finally I applied a new coating with a small sponge that I dabbed on the seat with numerous layers until I got the surface back. You can see I have haldf done this seat so you can see the difference between old and new

Wow. That’s really well done. Looks professional.

My seats I won’t be doing myself as they have coloured Daytona inserts.

Like this - I am worried that I will stain the black inserts

348jeff............that interior looks amazing.

Will need to think about doing the same to the tired interior on my F355.
