Anyone think these will reach the 458 Speciale desirability levels? I think they will do even though an F8 has the same amount of power the Pista has more of an event to it being a special run...
I’ve seriously been thinking about buying a Pista Spider over the last few weeks. Downside is that it looks like they’ve built around 1,200 of the Spiders and c3,500-4000 coupe’s. That’s a lot of cars. Also, given how mileage sensitive these series are I’m just worried I’ll end up not wanting to put too many miles on it. I do think the Pista is the nicest looking mid engined V8 Ferrari ever and has so much more presence than the F8.The Speciale was the last ever n/a V8 Ferrari. The Pista wasn’t even the last turbo V8 (I.e. that’s the F8) so it’s difficult to see premiums rocketing once the current market madness settles down (only my uniformed opinion though!)
Which of the modern V8 ‘s haven’t done reasonably well in recent years? On the basis of the ic engine being slowly phased out I can’t see any of them bombing either tbh.
Ive come back to Ferrari after a 7 year break with other marques. Having purchased an F8 spider I’m blown away by the pace of this thing and the quality of build, only disappointing thing is the marque is still paranoid about mileage as it ever was and as a person who drives his cars and doesn’t keep them as ornaments I’ll be moving the thing on in no time before it’s worth tuppence!

Agree with you about the F8 performance. Only downside for me is that it’s quieter than I would like, those filters really strangle the noise.
The one thing that surprised me, in a good way, is how “angry” the Pista sounds, especially when you start it from cold - much more so than my 720S or my old 355. Shame if they start making them quieter…Edited by Pistaaah on Saturday 19th March 07:15

I’ve joined the pista clan if there is such a thing! Anyway here it is the day it was delivered. Got to drive it yesterday to a Drivers Union event. Nice to meet you George. Looking forward to getting out in it a lot more than the GTB.
Nice to meet you too. Congratulations the car is stunning, you will love it! Coxey said:

Beautiful, and George's car.Be careful with those tree roots so close to the house
I have a 488GTB and have driven one. It was a damp road so could not explore the limits. I was surprised how good it was, not too trashy, gear shift speed, power delivery. However, is it over 2 twice as good as a fully loaded 2018/19 488GTB ? I would want one with both Apple CarPlay + Hi Fi and that is a very rare combo. There has been 40 on Autotrader for many many months and as you say no obvious price adjustments.

Out of interest, why did you go for the Pista instead of a Speciale?
When I first started looking I was open to either but if I'm honest it was actually the Speciale that I really had in mind. However when I started comparing the 2 properly side by side the Speciale was begining to look dated and I know its very much a personal thing but to me the Pista is one of the prettiest cars out there with so many intricate details everywhere you look. Also I started to consider the fact that I wanted a car to drive, not a garage queen and the fact that my Pista was just 16 months old when I bought it meant that I would have another 2 1/2 years of full manufacturer warranty as well as the 7 years servicing so it just made more sense for me. I have covered 6,000 miles in the first year of ownership and I am still amazed by the fact that I find myself looking forward to the weekends just so that i can take the car out. Even throughout the winter the longest it has sat in the garage unused is 2.5 weeks and that's only because I was away on holiday. I have a Euro trip booked at the end of May where I will be driving her through some of the most iconic roads in Italy and I am literally counting down the days like a child! Everyone is different and I still do love the Speciale but having owned a Pista for just over a year now I am absolutely certain that I made the right decision. I consider myself very fortunate for having had the opportunity to chose in the first place. She's probably worthless now though because of the amount of mileage that I'm doing but hey ho I genuinely cant see that I would ever sell her! Coxey said:
