Ok, so it was only a 1 week road trip, but as I bought the car in lockdown this was the first chance to properly stretch its legs. The road trip was only St Malo to Le Mans (well 40 miles south of Le Mans) and Le Mans back to Caen, with a few day trips exploring some wonderful and empty French roads. Overall 1003 miles. car totally reliable despite high air temps outside and spirited driving.

Here are some observations

The car is great as a tourer, comfortable, excellent air conditioning that just works keeping the car at the set temperature, loads of luggage space (I was amazed how much the frunk holds). The only catch was that it is very low at the front and the French love speed tables/bumps in towns - ralentisser! I had to go very slowly over these. Fuel consumption 20mph - see spirited driving below

Ferries
The low front was a big problem especially at Caen and Portsmouth, I could tell the F1 box didnt like the slow creeping necessary, that system is not designed for stop start stuff!

Spirited Driving
Ok so its not as fast as the cars a couple of my mates have (a 20 year old Ferrari was never going to keep up with a Huracan Performante or even a 992 Targa 4s), but its p[lenty fast enough. It coped easily with hard acceleration and braking repeatedly into bends, the F1 box in sport mode is a delight for this type of driving. Revving to 8500 rpm the engine remains special and spine tingling even with the stock exhaust. Overtaking is effortless, grip and balance excellent, braking strong with no squirreling. In sport mode some tail wagging may have occurred wink Its hard to believe that the car is 20 years old (until you come to use the radio or need a satnav). On the Mway fuel consumption cruising at 80mph was around 25mpg, under spirited driving more like 14mpg smile

Reaction
The French love Ferrari's! I had loads of people tell me the car is tres beau. It was amusing when after one French couple waxed lyrical about it, my mate pointed to his 992 Targa and said "Porsche?" The response from the couple was "Pah, Porsche, Ferrari est premier". This sort of reaction was pretty much universal. Only the bright green Huracan got more attention.

Excellent.

Like you I bought my 430 just before lockdown, so September is it's first proper trip. Also going to France, but heading down to Mulhouse and then the Black Forest.

Hi Bluegg33. Thanks for sharing glad to hear the 360 was more than you to the task. Sometimes you don't need loads of horsepower, it's more how it feels - seat of your pants style. Love the colour too?

I'm planning a SoF trip myself but I'm lost! Would you mind sharing your itinerary?

Is that a double-decker bus on the ferry?

Yes. It’s destination was Le Mans!

They put me on the lower deck because my ground clearance was so low.

Great to hear you thoroughly enjoyed the trip! Just something to point out regarding ferries... For DFDS at least you can specify your car to be a 'low clearance vehicle' and they put you on the truck deck. We did that a couple of times with our 360 and had no problems at all.

I feel like i need to get out to France and take mine. The F1 box is a love/hate thing.
I love the F1 box. In sports mode the downshifts under high RPM puts an enormous grin on my face. I think its so underrated especially by the internet, you get people who never driven the F1 box slating it.

Would you consider changing your exhaust?

Brittany ferries were pretty good at identifying the low cars and loading them accordingly. My, a Sag, and a GT40 were held until the end of boarding so they could put us on a low deck. We were almost first off as a result.

100% this. It's no good for posing in a city centre but on the open road it's sublime. That's where it all starts to make sense!

The 360 has aged incredibly well imo.
Glad you had a chance to enjoy it.

Ha ha no

It belongs to a middle aged lawyer! I’ll tell him though.

He has had it completely rebuilt and it’s immaculate. But he has scratched the itch and will be selling it soon.

This makes me want to keep my 360.

I really want a Huracan or save up for an Aventador but I think i will regret it. The 360 has so much soul and drama especially with that F1 box that's hit and miss LOL i love the drama.

I am glad you had a great trip mate. Inspiring.

I had a go in the Huracan Performante. Unbelievably quick, amazing grip, fabulous sound.

it was a good idea. Fortunately I am too poor to afford one. Its owner has a 360 as well. He won't be selling the 360 even though he now has the Huracan

that's good to hear. There's always a mild risk with sampling smile
