What colour interior for a 458?
Discussion
The UK seems to be the only place where Rosso/Crema is sought after? You only need to look at the LHD only “halo” models to see that Rosso/Nero is the proper combination.
Exception to this is the F40 where Rosso/Rosso is acceptable.
Point is you won’t find anything with Crema seats and Bordeaux trims.

My first Ferrari, some 20+ years ago was a 355 spider which was brand new but a cancelled order. It was rosso/crema with bordeaux carpets which was ok but since then, when spec’ing my cars my wife (who has pretty good taste) has insisted on black carpets regardless of the rest of the spec and they have always worked well. The only exception was when we had a blue California for a couple of years which had navy carpets. And while we’re on the subject, avoid red seatbelts at all costs.

This. Rosso/tan is soo much nicer. I once went to look at a Rosso/crema car, and the seat bases, lower dashboard and door cards had blue denim stains! Also saw a crema interior with red daytona inserts, piping, carpets, and it looked like a jam roly-poly Nero for me always. I also much prefer the nero pillar and upper roof trims, which help create a more focused cabin.

Plenty dislike black, including me.
Perhaps that’s true but all the collectors spec this on the cars they don’t want to keep, the reason, it sells fastest. I like crema but sabbia doesn’t mark so easily.

Red with cream is the most prevalent combination in the UK. Red with black in Europe and red with beige in the US.Exception to this is the F40 where Rosso/Rosso is acceptable.

Somehow I think crema dates the 458 whereas up to F430 its period correct
^Spot on. The interior of most regular cars in the 1980s (and into 90s) came in lots of colours, but generally darker shades. Personally, as a kid I thought the peak of interior luxury was the grey velour seats you could get in the “Ghia” level of Ford. Compared to this, the cream leather and red carpets of a Ferrari positively projected decadence and wealth. Remember, this was a time when it was cool for a guy to wear a pastel jacket, white trousers and espadrilles. So not surprisingly, it’s what people wanted.
So absolutely right on a 328 or 355, perhaps a bit dated on a 458.

Is it not cool to wear a pastel jacket, white trousers and espadrilles anymore ???Compared to this, the cream leather and red carpets of a Ferrari positively projected decadence and wealth.
